# ***To a Truthful Tree Tuesday***

So I was reading a post from the the always inspiring @jaynie about [people pleasers](https://peakd.com/hive-114105/@jaynie/the-people-pleasers). Now I must confess I have been, and still am to some degree, a people pleaser. I do enjoy seeing people happy.  In fact it may sound selfish, but seeing other people happy tends to make me happy as well.

#### One of the very few good things about ageing is that the desire to please others seems to diminish as the years mount. Perhaps it is the realization that one's time is finite, and therefore mighty precious. Once one realizes the value of the remainder of their time, wasting it on bending over backwards to help others feel better, begins to feel absurd! I have really learned to say no more often. Yes there is always a twinge of guilt that seems to go along with the negative response. However, I think people tend to appreciate the "yeses" much more when mixed in with a good bit of "no's".

### Some of the trees here have seemed to get the message that Fall is right around the corner if not here already. Other trees seem determined to continue along as if this summer is still in full effect.
