Valve seems to be working on tools to get Windows games running on Linux

 As a user of Linux for 19 years now, this is great news for me to be able to read. It would be nice to not have struggles that could be avoided. Just use what we know works well. Remember guys games run on the ps4 even and its Orbis OS, which is a modified version of FreeBSD 9 technically if they can do that then it cannot be too hard with Linux being so very close to BSD and UNIX. Usually it was for most years BSD getting trickle down from Linux not the other way around. So Linux needs to lead with the Open Source gaming platform of choice again. Android uses the Linux Kernel and look at the games that even runs on it ie PUBG and Fortnite.

Linux was started as a desktop operating system and desktop is the only place it doesn't dominate. Making Windows stuff work perfectly on Linux, the boundaries will narrow down significantly.

Yeah that is true I have used Linux for 19 years (it got popular on servers before desktop home use, even though Linus Torvalds started it on his home pc) and Wine also, so what you say is correct. It has gotten much more easy every year and now though to run windows .exe's and now we are at this point!
