I make no attempt to predict the market of Splinterlands - my efforts are concentrated on seeing that the crypto is now underpriced. However, I believe that if we have a widespread belief that we will get a guaranteed return on investment made in Splinterlands, it could lead to problems. If this happens, prices, but not necessarily the real value, can be expected to be significantly affected.

I would say that the sales sentiment we are facing now is long term "hodlers" best friend. As me and many investors think; when it comes to investing, pessimism is your friend, euphoria is your enemy. In time of writing, I sense a bit of pessimism around the assets of Splinterland. In other words, we can say that the pessimism around Splinterlands assets is now our friend, and it is an advantage to invest now compared to October highs. If you ever think of becoming an owner of NFTs and different tokens or even plots/lands in the Splinterlands universe, then buckle up. 

Since my initial investment in Splinterlands was for long term reasons my 2022 investments will be very alike: long term. I believe that in the long run this will give me a decent return. Maybe not as good as if I were to swing trade the assets on Splinterlands, but then again, it is soooo hard to predict that and I am too afraid of losing that major rise in Splinterlands assets, when it happens. If you really believe in Splinterlands future and see yourself using it for a long time and have a clear strategy of how to invest, I believe that your returns will be fortune enough. 

Think of it, Splinterland is still in its early days – it could turn 3D before you know it! And then what? Having fun as when you play on your computer or PS5 but earning as well - outstanding! However, for Splinterlands to prosper even more I believe the way you play the game will need to change in the long term. More interactions from the player in game would be crucial in the future if Splinterlands where to survive and compete in the play2earn world. By talking to many of my acquaintances and friends we agreed that if it was possible to interact more when the actual fight took place it would have attract even more players who were only there for the game experience. The latter assumptions are based on that hard core games are not playing for the reason of earning money - they are there for the game experience. If Splinterlands offers better gaming experience in the future and you could live of the revenue streams of playing, there is no doubt that Splinterlands would be unstoppable. Splinterlands are still early, and we are heading for the latter scenario. I am so glad I am a part of this!

Anyways, where was I? oh yes… It is also important when making investments that you take care of capital allocation. For example, now that the prices of various assets fall on Splinterlands, it would be vice to rent out cards, and build DEC to be able to get passive SPS airdrop. Point being, when we have reduction in price in various tokens, we could offset this by airdrops and rental income. Then you build somewhat of a hedge against market turmoil. You could also use the passive income from rentals and SPS to invest in credits so you can buy up even more Chaos legion packs which in turn can give you rental income and higher SPS airdrops. Let’s create a safe environment- and minimize the risk around our Splinterland assets by creating different strategies around the game.

I know several in here have developed mental strength to treat the market pessimism we now see as a friend and capitalize on the fall of different assets. When many of us escape from the turmoil (most likely), me and others choose to invest capital as far as possible. Instead of stuffing the money in the mattress and / or securing it in other assets, I'm looking for extraordinary opportunities in Splinterlands, and I believe that the timing is almost perfect now (the timing was perfect three years ago but who knew? lol). Just look at the cards, some of them were priced at 500 dollars a couple a week ago but now they have halved. If you use time correctly you can scoop up some decent cards to an enormous discount and I see the latter act “all the time”. I am there myself!

It is easy to measure the success of skilled investors. In the Splinterlands universe, one gains by reinvesting crypto earned from Splinterlands, and over time, this crypto earns more crypto than it cost in its time. Just having a look at recent history at Splinterlands, an Alpha pack did cost 2 dollars for like 3 years ago and now (even with tremendous loss) it is hovering around $400, now that is what I call return! If you bought a lot of Alpha packs back then, you are a very successful Splinterland Investor.

#### Look again if you think the sky is falling!

Even though the stock markets corrected down around 50% in 2008, you still had a return on +100%, even though you invested right before the crash (just look at the historic graph of MSCI world). We now have a similar scenario in Splinterlands, I personally have seen my values halved recently, but if I measure myself against corrected stock exchanges in 2008 then I am not worried at all. We will probably return to all-time highs, it's just a matter of time before we're there again.

We are all hit by the downturn when I say my portfolio in Splinterlands is hit hard, this concerns all other long-term holders as well. So even though you are the world's smartest investor in Splinterlands, you have probably also experienced a market decline recently. Why? The obvious answer is because we are all humans. So, what do you do when our investments decrease in value? Personally, I do nothing. This decline is "due" to a fall in market prices, not net sales of my assets on Splinterlands. In other words, the decline is a paper loss not a realized loss. I know the market of Splinterlands will change again, just like the weather changes. The qualities of the Splinterlands will inevitably rise again, and our fortunes will accumulate. I'm buying Splinterlands to keep it, it's in my DNA now. I buy to keep what I really believe in, and I believe in Splinterlands to do great things in the future. I see that the team behind Splinterlands are skilled and extremely disciplined. This means that these people must sign good contracts with good customers, invest in sensible business and make rules for the assets on Splinterlands that give us (investors) reasonable compensation for taking risks.

Imagine if you got panic and sold all your assets on Splinterlands now? If you had sold everything now, you would have ascertained a real loss. It would have provided some tax benefits and cash / Hive - but where would that go? Back into Splinterlands? The latter is not a suitable procedure when panic sets in. Fortunately, I keep my head cool and as the economy improves, so will our fortunes!

Instead of worrying, let’s celebrate the low prices and buckle up for some investments!
