My Wednesday Walk near Lake Rääkjärv in Estonia

|This time my Wednesday walk took place in my favourite place - the Kurtna Nature Reserve in the north-east of Estonia. Kurtna is a real lake kingdom. Just imagine that there are 40 lakes here on a relatively small area of 3 by 9 kilometers! It is the most lake-rich area in Estonia. Some types of the lakes are recognized as rare ones with interesting natural habitats and rare species, so in 1987 the Kurtna Landscape Reserve was created to protect them. The reserve itself is a part of the Alutaguse National Park. |🌫|Моя прогулка в эту среду проходила в моём любимом месте - заповеднике Куртна на северо-востоке Эстонии. Куртна - это настоящее озёрное царство. Только представьте, что здесь на сравнительно маленькой площади 3 на 9 километров находятся 40 озёр! Это район озерной системы с самой высокой их плотностью в стране. Некоторые виды озёр признаны редкими с интересными и редкими обитателями, поэтому в 1987 году для их защиты был создан ландшафтный заповедник Куртна. Сам заповедник входит в состав Национального парка Алутагузе.|

|Many of the lakes here are very small, with peaty shores, but there are also quite large ones with sandy shores, where people from all around Estonia like to come to admire the beauty of nature, swim and sunbathe - of course, when the weather is good for that. We spent that Wednesday by Lake Rääkjärv. You can see it on the map above.|🌞|Многие озера совсем маленькие, с торфяными берегами, но есть и довольно большие, с песчаными берегами, куда любят приезжать жители Эстонии, чтобы полюбоваться красотой природы, поплавать и позагорать - конечно, когда погода это позволяет. Ту среду мы провели у озера Rääkjärv, вы видите его на карте на фото выше.|

| This lake is called Rääkjärv, which can be translated from Estonian as Talking Lake. I tried to find where the name comes from, but, unfortunately, I have not succeeded yet. I think that echo is good there, hence the name is. The photo above shows that the bottom of the lake is sandy in some places, which is good for entering the water. There is also sand on the shore, which makes a small beach. Of course, the photo was taken not today. It's already autumn in Estonia, the air temperature is +9 to 11 C, and hardly anyone would dare to swim in the lake.|😁|Озеро это называется Rääkjärv, что с эстонского переводится как Говорящее озеро. Я пыталась узнать, почему оно так называется, но, к сожалению, не нашла информации. Думаю, что эхо там хорошее, отсюда и название. На фото выше видно, что дно озера в некоторых местах песчаное, удобное для захода в воду. Есть песок и на участке берега, вполне пригодном для маленького пляжа. Фото это было сделано, конечно, не сегодня. У нас уже осень, температура воздуха +11 С, и купаться в озере вряд ли кто-то рискнул бы. |

|An information board by the lake says that perch, roach, pike and tench are found there. I think we can trust them. |🐟|Информационный щит, установленный у озера, говорит о том, что там водятся окунь, плотва, щука, линь. Думаю, что им можно верить.|

|The shores of the lake are high and covered with pine and birch forests. There are spruces and other types of trees. |🌳  🌲|На высоких берегах озера растут, в основном, сосны и березы, но есть и ели, и другие деревья.|

|Cowberries or lingonberries (I am not sure if it is the same 😌) and mushrooms make a walk not only pleasant, but also economically useful.|🍄|Брусника и грибы  делают прогулку не только приятной, но и по хозяйственному полезной.|

|There are many forest strawberry meadows, but for these berries we will  come in June. ||Здесь много земляничных полянок, но за земляникой нужно будет приехать в июне.|

|The area by the lake is well equipped for tourists as you can see from the pictures below. We did not come for long, so we did not bring food with us, but decided to have a picnic here next time. |🌞|Место у озера хорошо оборудовано для отдыхающих, это видно по фото ниже. Мы приехали не надолго, поэтому не привезли с собой еду, но решили устроить здесь пикник в следующий раз.|
