 While Get Out had been around for years now, I never imagined it to be a film I would recommend to people. It has a rather different take on a familiar topic, interesting characters, and just enough to get you hooked until the end.

I guess the film is popular. I recognized some sounds from the film on social media after finally watching it. Some eerie sounds in the film tend to want to stick, but the sounds aren't the star of the show. It's the entirety of the film and its story.

Comic reliefs were introduced quickly in the film. The dialogues were good and natural and sometimes humorous, enough to keep you laid-back and perhaps not expecting what's to come eventually. The film builds up slowly yet with good pacing.

> Chris, an African-American man, decides to visit his Caucasian girlfriend's parents during a weekend getaway. Although they seem normal at first, he is not prepared to experience the horrors ahead.

I thought I was in for a regular romantic film. I knew the film was tagged psychological horror, but I just didn't see in the beginning how we would get there. With every new character, however, things built up quickly, and I was mostly on the edge.

You'll find this film about the slavery of people, but not in the conventional way. What I found really intriguing was how these people got enslaved and how very "different" they acted. Very compliant and highly suggestible. Until the film unfolded and told that part of the story, it was nothing short of proper scripting with good storytelling.

It did turn out to be a bit gory in some parts of the film, especially as things became more intense and thrilling. Viewer discretion is advised. What was more fascinating was how it was entirely a thing of the mind.

I would say that the film reminded me of how the only thoughts you can really ever be certain of are yours. The film depicted how people could have completely different notions that don't align with their personalities towards you. And choosing to ignore the signs could be very dangerous.

The main actors—all of them—were all really strong with their characters. Daniel Kaluuya mostly drove the film, being the center of it all and playing his character so well. He's always had a certain energy in his roles that somehow gives a lot of life to the characters he plays.

If I hadn't had this film recommended to me, I probably would have never gotten to enjoy it. Films like this are the kind that I could watch again for how well they were made. Great effort was obviously put in under different aspects of the film, so it makes sense that it was widely acclaimed and some of its soundtracks have been around ever since.

If a film that could put you on edge and is something you're interested in, then Get Out will likely do the trick. It's an example of a great movie.
