Viewing a response to: @esecholo/how-many-of-you-actually-use-google
Given the fact that Snowden revealed about Google giving up info to the Feds, I won't ever use them or anything related to them. In fact, I use a java script blocker to block the scripts that they run on other websites throughout the internet to thwart their shadow profiling (like Facebook does). But sadly, I realize there are millions of people who don't care about personal or internet privacy.

Why does anyone expect thank anything posted on a social network is private? People expecting that don't understand what such a network is for. It's not that I agree with or support what Google is doing but no one should ever seriously expect that stuff posted on a social network, no matter how privacy oriented, will remain private forever.

I totally realize that nothing posted on social networks is private. That is why I, and a large subset of other like minded people, don't use them at all. Personally, I prefer to have social contact in a real life manner. Secondly, even if you wish to expose your life online through google or facebook, the fact that those companies willingly give up your personal info to the feds is what is most worrisome.

Companies like Google give up the information because they see it as the path of least resistance. They need enough backlash from users to make sure that isn't the case. I see that you are using steemit which is also a social network. The feds don't even have to ask to get what you post here. Every other social network should be treated the same no matter how much privacy they claim because even if they aren't willing to give up the info, can you really trust them to be hack proof? Or that policies or laws won't change at a later date?
