That loving someone was something easy to do. Personally, I believed that when you are in love with a person there will be nothing like fights, quarrels, or any room for doubt. The movies we watched showcased love as being happy forever. But I was bummed when I realized that was not the case in the slightest. It started when I saw this very beautiful girl. When I first saw her, I was shocked at how beautiful she was. Her black braided hair and her skin, the most beautiful shade of brown I had ever seen she was perfect in every aspect and I fell instantly. It was love at first sight. I approached her slowly. while walking toward her, I was a bit nervous but I put on my big boy boots and walked toward her. “Hi I’m Xavier what’s your name,” I asked her. “I’m Sandra” she replied. “So, apart from taking my breath away, what else do you do for a living?” I said to her. My cheese pickup line made her smile and that kicked my nervousness out the window instantly. “Please stop I’m a student here,” she said with a little laugh. “Me too” I replied. We spoke more as I walked with her and we got to know more about each other. “So I would be collecting your number now,” I said while giving her my phone. “Sure,” she said with a smile. On my way home all I could think about was her, her voice, her face, everything about her. I couldn’t wait to see her again even though we saw each other. I was happy for the first time in a long while and that was something I had longed for. If only I had known that it would lead to even more unhappiness. “Hello,” I said on the phone. “Xavier,” her angelic voice said. “Yeah, I can’t stop thinking about you, what are you doing,” I said to her. “Awnn me too, well I’m about to eat then probably watch a movie” she replied. “Ok, that's nice. I was thinking we should hang out tomorrow what do you think” I said to her. “Tomorrow is fine I’ll be free by 12” she replied. I danced around my room quickly out of happiness because I didn’t think she was going to agree. “Sure 12 is ok,” I said after my mini-concert. Tomorrow came very fast and soon we were hanging out at the mall. We watched different movies and played mall games. It was a day of bliss and we both had fun. At the end of the wonderful day, we shared a kiss. Our first kiss which I could never forget, kept me up all night reminiscing. We were meant to be I could swear, the connection was there and there was no faking it. She was meant for me and me for her. The green light was there, the signs were there. It didn’t take long before we started dating. For a few weeks, we were all lovey-dovey It was all I expected and more, then it all turned upside-down. How the fighting started, I didn’t know It just started. We would fight over everything little or big, it became our daily routine. Then the doubts came in. We were always fighting, we did not talk like we used to and it was beginning to get to me because I remember how we used to be and now we were barely speaking. It became a toxic relationship overnight and it was draining me mentally. I became worse than before we met, unhappy and miserable. But one thing was sure, I still loved her to death and was willing to keep working on our relationship. But that dream crashed down after one video call one night. “Hello babe,” she said to me. “Hey, how are you, where are you at?” I asked seeing as she was laying on a bed unfamiliar to me. “At a friend’s place,” she replied. “A friend? Which friend?” I asked. Before she could reply I saw a guy pass by completely cloth-less, and my heart sank to my stomach and I ended the call immediately. I couldn’t believe it, she cheated on me, and from the look of things that was not the first time. She tried calling and she sent several messages giving reasons for what she did and I replied none. She came over and I didn’t entertain her coming in, I was a mess and it made me rethink everything. I wished I never met her because the pain was too much to bear. Maybe if I had never met her I would have been better off.

It seems the speed with which the relationship began might have been a red flag. There didn't seem to be much thought about who the other person was. In the end, it seems the young lady formed another relationship with equal ease.
