That goes for all sorts of weed but in this case I am talking its aesthetics 🙂 How does a garden like this look to you?  Not much of a garden, the owners used to have a full one but a crazy snowfall killed all vegetation so now gravel took its place for the most part. They would like to spray the weed and keep it clean. To be honest I feel a little sorry for these yellow cuties:  But on the other hand I can partially understand them. They want it to look maintained and clean for AirBnB use. Since I am around though I volunteered to clean it all by hand. To be honest I don't know of anyone else who would do this, especially being a tenant. In the best case one might go like "no worries I'll spray them". Am I just crazy or worth it? Let's see: The whole thing took me part of my morning and part of my afternoon. To be honest I expected it to be a little easier as I thought that these guys grow in between the pebbles of this (few cm deep) layer of gravel therefore easy to take the whole thing off with the root (otherwise it just regrows in a bit). However, a good amount of the weed was coming UNDER the synthetic sheet where the gravel ends and the soil begins. Impressive to see it penetrating that material going all the way through! So while picking the shallow ones was not that hard, taking off the roots of the deep ones was the thing that delayed me the most. I'm happy with the results:   Fancy a comparison? |Before|After| |-|-| ||| |Before|After| |-|-| ||| So, it made any sense or I just wasted my time? Definitely the former in my book. I could let them spray and not give a fuck. Instead I spared some poison from being used, the time I spent you can consider it as workout plus I like to spend time doing gardening stuff and whatever pleases my baby soul I consider it priceless.
