¡Hola queridos Hivers! Un placer estar con ustedes, y mucho más para hablar de un tema que me hace inmensamente feliz: Series. Hoy voy a hacer una crítica de la serie original de Netflix <strong>Anne with an E</strong>, diciendo de antemano que me ha encantado esta serie y que todos deberían verla, pues transmite valores y lecciones increíbles.

Les comento que la historia de Anne Shirley Cuthbert no es nueva, pues en realidad está basada en la novela de Louisa Maud Montgomery titulada: <em>Anne of Green Gables</em>. A su vez, esta ha tenido varias adaptaciones cinematográficas siendo una de las más famosas la de 1985, protagonizada por Megan Follows. Sin embargo, Netflix y CBC merecen un premio puesto que la adaptación de 2017 titulada <em>ANNE WITH AN E</em>, no solo es una de las mejores sino también la más aclamada por la audiencia.

Este programa tiene muchos aspectos tanto sociales como cinematográficos a su favor, y eso es lo que vamos a analizar el día de hoy.

<h4>SHOW FEMINISTA</h4>

ANNE WITH AN E ha sido catalogado como un "Show feminista", puesto que uno de los aspectos principales del mismo es el empoderamiento femenino y la igualdad de género. Podemos observar muchísimas situaciones de misoginia, machismo y sexismo las cuales Anne Shirley denuncia con valor apostando siempre a la idea de una sociedad más justa. La serie se desarrolla en el año 1896, en medio de la segunda ola del feminismo (que comenzó en el año 1800 y terminó en el año 1950) y en este periodo en el que esta serie es ambientada aunque ya las mujeres tenían derecho a la educación ya la propiedad, aún existían muchos prejuicios en cuanto a sus capacidades. Aún así, muchas escenas y situaciones nos presentan la idea de igualdad de género dentro de una sociedad machista.

<h4>DILE NO A LOS PREJUICIOS</h4>

Si algo tiene Anne, es la capacidad de ver más allá de los prejuicios de la sociedad de su tiempo. En una sociedad racista, clasista y homofóbica Anne aceptaba a todas las personas sin importar su color, raza, posición social u orientación sexual. Veamos algunos ejemplos:

<li>Jerry es un niño que trabaja para Matthew en la granja, es pobre y nunca fue a la escuela. Aún así Los Cuthbert no lo discriminan, sino que por el contrario lo protegen. Cuando Jerry está triste por no haber ido a la escuela, Anne lo enseña a leer y a escribir; mientras que más adelante Matthew le presta libros y lo ayuda a entenderlos.

<h4>POSITIVIDAD ANTE TODO</h4>

Anne tenía grandes ideas, grandes sueños, grandes proyectos. Nunca pensó que estaba condenada a una vida infeliz por su comienzo difícil, y siempre que tenía ideas revolucionarias las hacía notar ante los demás. Se llegó a ganar problemas por esto (como en la temporada 3-episodio 7: escribió un artículo en el periódico escolar sobre la autonomía corporal que deben tener las mujeres y causó un gran revuelo en el pueblo y ante la iglesia), sin embargo esto la motivaba a hacer valer más su voz. Incluso organizó una protesta para reclamar el derecho a la libertad de expresión, su lema: <em>"LA LIBERTAD DE EXPRESIÓN ES UN DERECHO HUMANO"</em>

Cuando Anne se enfrentaba a un problema que la derrumbaba, no se dejaba arrastrar por el permanentemente. Ella siempre decía que se puede disfrutar de la vida si uno se dispone firmemente a ello. La resiliencia que demostraba Anne es un ejemplo para todos nosotros.

Anne with an E tiene una fotografía espectacular. Las escenas del hermoso pueblo de Avonlea nos cautivan visualmente y nos trasladan allí. Noté que la mayoría de las veces usaban una misma paleta de colores en las escenas, manteniendo una estética equilibrada en cada escena.

Un buen ejemplo es esta escena, donde podemos notar que se utilizan tonos neutros, e incluso hay coherencia entre el vestuario de ambos personajes y el fondo de la imagen atrás. Se mantiene una paleta de colores neutral y complementaria.

<h4>GUIÓN, TRAMA Y PERSONAJES</h4>

Los personajes de esta serie están muy bien desarrollados. Me gusta la manera en la que van cambiando personajes que en un principio podríamos considerar antagonistas (<em>como Marilla, la señora Lynd, Josie y Ruby</em>) para convertirse en personas más amables y comprensivas mostrando así personajes realistas con virtudes y defectos que no necesariamente los convierten en malas personas.

Pero como nada es perfecto, acá viene el punto amargo de este post: <strong>LO QUE NO ME GUSTÓ.
</strong>
La serie cuenta con una trama principal que a la vez incluye sub-tramas, todo esto hace la serie más interesante. La 3era y última temporada contó con varias de ellas, pero...al momento de ser cancelada ocurrieron dos cosas: forzaron el cierre de ciertos cabos y dejaron otros abiertos. Lo entendería si la serie hubiese sido cancelada de imprevisto, pero no fue el caso pues desde el comienzo de la temporada los productores anunciaron que sería la última.

<li>¿Qué pasó con Ka'kweet y su familia? ¿lograron escapar del internado?</li>
<li>¿Cómo logró Diana que le permitieran ir a la universidad?</li>
<li>¿Logrará Diana cambiar de opinión en cuanto a Jerry?</li>

¿Ven? Demasiados cabos sueltos.

Claro que por esta razón los fans estamos pidiendo encarecidamente que la serie sea renovada para una cuarta temporada, que con suerte resolverá todos estos cabos sueltos. En fin, a pesar de estos pequeños detalles considero que la serie es <strong>EXCELENTE</strong> y quedé enamorada.

ANNE WITH AN E has been called a "Feminist Show", since one of its main aspects is female empowerment and gender equality. We can observe many situations of misogyny and sexism which Anne Shirley denounces with courage, always betting on the idea of a more just society. The series takes place in 1896, in the middle of the second wave of feminism (which began in 1800 and ended in 1950) and in this period in which this series is set although women already had the right to education and property, there were still many prejudices regarding their abilities. Anne had big ideas, big dreams, big projects. She never thought that she was condemned to an unhappy life because of her difficult start, and whenever she had revolutionary ideas she made them known to others. She got into trouble for this (like in the 3-episode 7 season: she wrote an article in the school paper about the bodily autonomy women should have and caused a big stir in the town and before the church), but this motivated her to make her voice heard more. She even organized a protest to demand the right to freedom of expression, her motto: <em>"FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION IS A HUMAN RIGHT"</em>

Anne with an E has a spectacular photograph. The scenes of the beautiful village of Avonlea captivate us visually and take us there. I noticed that most of the time they used the same color palette in the scenes, maintaining a balanced aesthetic in each scene.

The characters in this series are very well developed. I like the way they change characters that we might initially consider antagonistic (<em>such as Marilla, Mrs. Lynd, Josie and Ruby</em>) to become kinder and more understanding people, thus showing realistic characters with virtues and defects that do not necessarily make them bad people.

But as nothing is perfect, here comes the bitter point of this post: <strong>WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE.
</strong>
The series has a main plot that also includes subplots, all this makes the series more interesting. The third and last season had several of them, but... when it was cancelled two things happened: they forced the closure of certain lines and left others open. I would understand if the series had been cancelled unexpectedly, but it was not the case because since the beginning of the season the producers announced that it would be the last one.

Of course, that's why we fans are urging that the show be revamped for a fourth season, which hopefully will resolve all these loose ends. Anyway, despite these little details I consider the show to be <strong>EXCELLENT</strong> and I fell in love.
