list of bird species present on Miramar beach,
Buchivacoa municipality, Falcón state, using monitoring of
approximately five days during the years 2011-2012. For
the registry of birds, the method of transects of 750
m, in three previously selected sites: town, forest and
Beach. Quiscalus lugubris was the most abundant species in the area
sampled from the village; in the same way and unexpectedly
In the forest area, this species has managed to colonize
ingeniously many of the territories. Certain species do not
presented radical changes in sightings and among them
Icterus icterus stands out in the forest and town area, and equally
Scardafella squammata way. Other species were observed
more frequently in the forest as: Cardinalis phoeniceus;
its natural habitat is strictly in tropical forests and
dry subtropics, they are seldom seen in disturbed areas.
When directing the monitoring towards the coastal area, the following stood out: Fregata
magnificens and Pelecanus occidentalis. In the investigation it was achieved
confirm species that were not registered for the municipality
Buchivacoa on Miramar beach, such as: Polyborus plancus
and Charadrius alexandrinus. Once the list of birds is finished,
the scientific community is encouraged to inquire and investigate areas
Venezuelans, where there are few studies related to
diversity of birds.

listado de las especies de aves presentes en la playa de Miramar,
municipio Buchivacoa, estado Falcón, empleando monitoreos de
aproximadamente cinco días durante los años 2011-2012. Para
el registro de aves, se empleó el método de transectas de 750
m, en tres sitios previamente seleccionados: pueblo, bosque y
playa. Quiscalus lugubris fue la especie más abundante en la zona
muestreada del pueblo; de igual manera y de forma inesperada
en la zona del bosque, esta especie ha logrado colonizar de
manera ingeniosa muchos de los territorios. Ciertas especies no
presentaron cambios radicales en los avistamientos y entre ellas
destaca Icterus icterus en la zona de bosque y pueblo, y de igual
manera Scardafella squammata. Otras especies se observaron
con mayor frecuencia en el bosque como: Cardinalis phoeniceus;
su hábitat natural es estrictamente en bosques tropicales y
subtropicales secos, rara vez se les observa en zonas perturbadas.
Al dirigir el monitoreo hacia la zona de la costa se destacó: Fregata
magnificens y Pelecanus occidentalis. En la investigación se logró
confirmar especies que no estaban registradas para el municipio
Buchivacoa en la playa de Miramar, como son: Polyborus plancus
y Charadrius alexandrinus. Una vez finalizado el listado de aves,
se estimula a la comunidad científica a indagar e investigar áreas
venezolanas, donde hay pocos estudios relacionados con la
diversidad de las aves.
