 Monument of PLTD Apung in the village of Punge, Blancut, Banda Aceh. As the name implies, this ship is a source of electric power for the region of Ulee Lheue – place the ship was moored before the tsunami.

On the tsunami occurred on December 26, 2004, the ship was dragged down a tidal wave of as high as 8 meters so it shifts to the heart of the city of Banda Aceh is roughly as far as 5 kilometers away. The ship crashing into the middle of the settlement residents.

Currently, the area around the PLTD Apung has been purchased by the Government to rearrange educational tours rides and given the devastating Tsunami events.
