<div class="text-justify">In order to answer this question given to us in week 9:4 of the EcoTraing community, I must touch on several topics that for me are of vital importance and that in fact have been the subject of personal study at one stage of my life. </div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">In principle I think the first thing we must define is what is spirituality for the author of the post and define what is religion, since they are two different issues although analogous in a certain sense, since at some point in our spiritual life we can link them.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">To define spirituality for me is not easy, since like the Eternal (Our Tutelary Numen), love or faith, it is something that is not definable with words, since it exceeds any kind of conceptualization, but nevertheless it can be experienced. And it is these life experiences that lead us to think that there is something beyond the purely physical and conceptualizable.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">And when we get to live, experience and feel those metaphysical and transcendent facts in our life, is when we begin to think about spirituality, which as its name says is directly related to the spirit, that spirit that we call God, Yhave, Ala, Hashen, Shiva and stop counting, because according to the culture and religion each human being gives it a different invocation, being the last and one of the best known the definition of Universal Consciousness.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">But whatever we call it, or however we try to define it, we must be clear that a great majority of humanity accepts the existence of something superior to man, omnipresent, omnipotent and transcendent in our life and in the life of every person in this world. </div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">This is true even for those who define themselves as atheists, since by antonomasia and in their discursive process in most of the occasions the atheist gives strength to the belief or existence of God, given that deep down their discourse goes against the religious vision and its great history of successes and failures and not against spirituality, a situation that is clearer since the Phenomenology of Edmund Husserl. Although it would undoubtedly be another story and another level of discussion if the position of those who attack spirituality were based on the Materialism of Marx and Engles, but this is not the subject that concerns us.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Personally I have always believed that spirituality and the spiritual have been permanently present in human history. In the West, Greek philosophers speak of the soul, the body and the spirit; in the Bible, the subject is mentioned only once, and if I remember correctly, it is in the Letter of St. Paul to the Ephesians. However, this conceptualization is a fundamental part of Western Christian theology, although it has had certain differences, I mean that the Catholic Church speaks of Original Sin and that this leads man to his rupture with God.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">While the Orthodox Christian Church does not believe in the Original Sin, it speaks of the Ancestral Sin, and because of this sin committed by Adam, the soul was corrupted and changed its role or place in the divine or spiritual plan.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">I clarify this point more, according to several theories and writings, the Soul, is in the middle of the Spirit of the Eternal and the human body, being so, in the soul dwells the spiritual consciousness of the human body, which is fed by the spirit or universal consciousness, it would be then, the Divine Spirit or Spirituality, which creates the Soul, which is the link or that which links man (human body) with the Eternal or spirituality.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">According to what I read years ago, in the Orthodox Christian Church it is thought that at the moment that the Ancestral Sin is generated and the Soul of Man is corrupted, it (the soul) stops feeding or being nourished by the Spirit of God, and begins to feed or be nourished by the human body, by the vices, moral decadence and many other sins of man.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">That is why when man becomes aware of spirituality, an internal struggle begins, which produces jumps or growths of consciousness, making the soul return to its original place, thus achieving again the link between man and the Universal Spirituality, God or whatever we want to call it.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">To focus on the subject, and not to digress into theological and philosophical positions, I could say then that spirituality is represented by the Universal Spirit, God, the Eternal, the Universal Consciousness or whatever we call it on a personal level, since the relationship of an individual with the Eternal, understanding this as spirituality itself, is something very personal, and is done through the soul with the spirit or spirituality. Relationship that in turn becomes incomprehensible, incomparable and unspeakable, since only experienced the fact, by one who has lived that experience, is that it exists, since it cannot be conceptualized by reason.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">On the other hand, religions are the different visions, the different rites, the different ways and beliefs that the different peoples have created to link us to that universal consciousness. Religions that if it is true are born with that purpose, many times they move away from that path and become something else totally distant from what they were created for, thus creating in the world, this pandemonium that we have of religions, sects and other religious conglomerates, which often move man away from God with their actions and their fanaticism, rather than bring him closer.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">That is why it is important for me to make a previous separation between spirituality and religion. However, it is important to clarify that for me personally, religions are important, since at the bottom of them, there must be a real spiritual link between spirituality and the rites that are performed to achieve the momentary link with the Eternal. </div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">That is to say, we cannot blame religions for human deformations, since they are born in principle with the intention of linking man with God or the Eternal, however, all the deviations of paths taken by all religions, are things of men, of their fanaticism, their beliefs and their thirst for power, but not of the Universal Consciousness or of God as such.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Now, entering again to the subject, nowadays the technological advances are enormous, especially at the level of communication and telecommunications, by which many people feel that we are more communicated and more closely united with others, as we had never been before.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">We also see how in some industries, machines produce more than men, reducing jobs and producing more goods in less time and at lower cost, we have also seen the scope of technology in medicine, genetics and stop counting, as there would be countless examples that we can put.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">But every reality, like coins, has two sides, if it is true that there are these great benefits, it is also true that there are great detriments to society, which we are just beginning to see, since the benefits at this time, overshadow the negative of certain conditions that are beginning to become everyday in our lives. </div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">In fact, and I believe it is unquestionable, George Orwell's vision of Big Brother is more valid than ever in our society. That is why I dare to say that if it is true that technology has served to provide a certain level of access to information, certain levels of freedom, has increased our standards of living and has generated new ways of production, it is also true that it also serves to control and subdue entire societies.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">This is a great difference with spirituality, since, far from subduing and controlling, it liberates and helps the growth of human consciousness. Understanding that above we made a differentiation between what is religion and spirituality.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">In her book The Human Condition, the philosopher Hannah Arendt comments that factors such as work, communication, social interaction and gregariousness are fundamental aspects of the human condition. In the same way, the same author, when she talks about her theory on the Banality of Evil, in her book Eichmann in Jerusalem, takes us through the intricate paths of morality, duty, beliefs, obedience, religion and spirituality in a majestic way, since she intertwines all these topics and focuses them in a real and concrete fact, where one is really forced to face the concepts, beliefs and positions that one has. This leads us to understand much better, as well as what makes us human.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">On the other hand, Bauman, in his books The Besieged Society, In Search of Politics and the Liquid Society, shows us how our society is becoming more and more isolated thanks to technology, in fact he gives several interesting examples, one of them being the enormous level of loneliness and isolation that our young people feel and that is openly perceived in our society.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">A society where we increasingly use technological means such as smartphones to communicate and at the same time let us communicate, even if we have the other person in front of us. How many times have we not experienced firsthand that we are with friends or family and being at the same table, it is impossible to maintain a conversation, since the other person or persons are immersed in messages and phone games, how many times have we not seen teenagers or adults feeling lonely, having hundreds of followers on Facebook or other social networks.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Spirituality is the opposite of this practice of isolation, it is the union with the eternal one and by experiencing these experiences, you feel closer and united to your fellow man. That is why I said, paragraphs above, that religion and spirituality sometimes intertwine and that is because in religious praxis, at least in the West, there is a group rite that allows, in one way or another, according to the faith of the one who makes the spiritual life, to feel close to the Eternal and share with others through a group experience, that spiritual link with spirituality itself.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Whether that experience is achieved in the Mass for Catholics, the synagogue for Jews, the mosque for Muslims, the tenidas for Masons and so on, with every religion, faith, belief or philosophical school.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">In short, technology is a tool that serves for good or evil, depending on how we use it, the same happens with religions and the particular visions that we have of them, but in both there is goodness and evil, harmony and discord, depending on how we use it and what we use it for.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">While spirituality goes beyond all of the above, spirituality, understanding it as Universal Consciousness, God, The Eternal, The Great Architect of the Universe, Numen Tutelar, or whatever we wish to call it, is the beginning and the end of everything and everyone.</div> <p>

<div class="text-justify">And if it is true, that the Spirituality or Universal Consciousness, made us in his image and likeness and little inferior to the Gods, it is also true that he gave us discernment and free will. Therefore, the use of technology as a tool by us humans, whether for good or evil, is our sole and absolute responsibility, not endorsable to the Divine Spirit or Our Tutelary Numen.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">What we must be clear about are two things, no machine, nor any technology, will be able to overcome the warmth of the human embrace at the right time, the right word, the kiss given with love, or the embrace of a mother to her child. </div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Nor can it ever surpass or come close to the very personal, singular and unrepeatable experience that is an encounter with spirituality, that experience is unspeakable, it changes a person's life completely once it is lived and experienced, and being inexplicable, it is impossible to be understood by those who have never lived it. </div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">In short, spirituality and technology can live in the same space and place, it is up to us to give them their rightful place.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Regarding the spiritual experience, once someone asked me what it feels like to live a real spiritual experience? Not knowing what to answer I said, imagine or remember the orgasm that marked your life, with the person you love the most, now multiply that feeling to the nth power and feel it in every cell of your body, but for an endless time, only that in reality it was minimal time of the experience, but at the same time endless, something like that I think is close to what it feels like, but I'm not sure I can describe it or get close to what it really feels like in words. That person looked at me, stood up and walked away, then turned and looked at me in disbelief and after that day I never saw him again.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">So I think there is no better way to summarize all this written than with a poem by St. Teresa of Jesus, Discalced Carmelite Nun, Dr. of the Catholic Church and one of the most profound mystics of the church. (Understanding mysticism for this post, as the conscious and active search of the human being with the Eternal).</div> <p>

<div class="text-justify"> Para poder contestar esta pregunta que nos dan en la semana 9:4 de la comunidad EcoTraing, debo tocar varios tópicos que para mí son de vital importancia y que de hecho han sido materia de estudio personal en una etapa de mi vida.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">En principio creo lo primero que debemos definir es que es espiritualidad para el realizador del post y definir que es religión, ya que son dos cuestiones diferentes aunque análogas en cierto sentido, ya que en algún momento de nuestra vida espiritual las podemos vincular.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Definir para mí a la espiritualidad no es fácil, ya que al igual que al Eterno (Nuestro Numen Tutelar), el amor o la fe, es algo que no es definible con palabras, dado que supera todo tipo de conceptualización, pero sin embrago es experimentable. Y son esas experiencias de vida, las que nos llevan a pensar que hay algo más allá de lo puramente físico y conceptualizable.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Y cuando llegamos a vivir, experimentar y sentir esos hechos metafísicos y trascendentes en nuestra vida, es que comenzamos a pensar en la espiritualidad, que como bien lo dice su nombre se relaciona directamente con el espíritu, ese espíritu al que llamamos Dios, Yhave, Ala, Hashen, Shiva y pare de contar, ya que según la cultura y la religión que se posee cada ser humano le da una diferente advocación, siendo la última y una de las más conocidas la definición de Consciencia Universal.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Pero cómo sea que lo llamemos, o cómo sea que lo intentemos definir, debemos estar claros en que una gran mayoría de la humanidad acepta la existencia de algo superior al hombre, omnipresente, omnipotente y trascendente en nuestra vida y en la de cada persona que hay en este mundo. </div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Siendo esto cierto inclusive para quien se define ateo, ya que por antonomasia y en su proceso discursivo en la mayoría de las ocasiones el ateo, da fuerza a la creencia o existencia de Dios, dado que en el fondo su discurso va en contra de la visión religiosa y su gran historia de aciertos y desaciertos y no contra la espiritualidad, situación ésta que se ve más clara desde la Fenomenología de Edmund Husserl. Aunque sería indudable que sería otra historia y otro nivel de discusión si la postura de quien ataca la espiritualidad estuviese basada en el Materialismo de Marx y Engles, pero no es el tema que nos ocupa.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">En lo personal siempre he creído que la espiritualidad y lo espiritual han estado presente en la historia humana de manera permanente. En occidente los filósofos griegos hablan del alma, el cuerpo y el espíritu, en la Biblia, se habla una sola vez del tema, y si mal no lo recuerdo es en la Carta de San Pablo a los Efesios. Sin embargo, esta conceptualización es parte fundamental de la teología cristiana occidental, aunque ha tenido ciertas diferencias, me refiero a que la Iglesia Católica habla del Pecado Original y de que eso lleva al hombre a su ruptura con Dios.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Mientras que la Iglesia Ortodoxa Cristiana, no cree en el Pecado Original, habla del Pecado Ancestral, y a causa de este pecado cometido por Adán, el alma se corrompió y cambió su papel o lugar en plan divino o espiritual.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Aclaro más este punto, según varias teorías y escritos, el Alma, está en medio del Espíritu del Eterno y el cuerpo humano, siendo así, en el alma mora la consciencia espiritual del cuerpo humano, que se alimenta del espíritu o consciencia universal, sería entonces, el Espíritu Divino o la Espiritualidad, que crea el Alma, que es el vínculo o aquello que vincula al hombre (cuerpo humano) con el Eterno o la espiritualidad.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Según lo que leí hace años, en la Iglesia Ortodoxa Cristiana se piensa que en el momento que se genera el Pecado Ancestral y Alma del Hombre se corrompe, está (el alma) deja de alimentarse o de nutrirse del Espíritu de Dios, y comienza a alimentarse o nutrirse del cuerpo humano, de los vicios la decadencia moral y otros tantos pecados del hombre.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Por eso cuando el hombre toma consciencia de la espiritualidad, comienza una lucha interna, que va produciendo saltos o crecimientos de consciencia, haciendo que el alma vuelva a su lugar original, lográndose así nuevamente la vinculación del hombre con la Espiritualidad Universal, Dios o como lo deseemos llamar.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Para centrarme en el tema, y para no divagar en posiciones teológicas y filosóficas, podría decir entonces que la espiritualidad es representada por el Espíritu Universal, Dios, el Eterno, la Consciencia Universal o como sea que lo llamemos a nivel personal, dado que la relación de un individuo con el Eterno, entendiendo a este como la espiritualidad en sí, es algo muy personal, y se hace a través del alma con el espíritu o la espiritualidad. Relación que a su vez se hace incomprensible, incomparable e inenarrable, ya que sólo experimentado el hecho, por aquel que ha vivido dicha experiencia, es que la misma existe, dado que no puede ser conceptualizada por la razón.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Por otro lado, las religiones, son las diferentes visiones, los diferentes ritos, las diferentes maneras y creencias, que los diferentes pueblos hemos creado para lograr vincularnos a esa consciencia universal. Religiones que si es cierto nacen con ese propósito, muchas veces se alejan de ese camino y se convierten en otra cosa totalmente alejado de aquello para lo cual fueron creados, creándose así en el mundo, este pandemónium que tenemos de religiones, sectas y demás conglomerados religiosos, que muchas veces alejan más al hombre de Dios con sus acciones y su fanatismo, que acercarlo.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Por eso es importante para mí hacer una separación previa de espiritualidad y religión. Sin embargo, es importante aclarar que para mí en lo personal, las religiones son importantes, dado que en el fondo de las mismas, debe haber una vinculación espiritual real entre la espiritualidad y los ritos que se realizan para lograr la vinculación momentánea con el Eterno.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Es decir, no podemos echar la culpa a las religiones de las deformaciones humanas, dado que estás en principio nacen con la intención de vincular al hombre Con Dios o El Eterno, sin embargo, todos los desvíos de caminos tomados por todas las religiones, son cosas de los hombres, de su fanatismo, sus creencias y de su sed de poder, más no así de la Consciencia Universal o de Dios como tal.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Ahora bien, entrando de nuevo al tema, hoy en día los avances tecnológicos son enormes, sobre todos a nivel de comunicación y telecomunicaciones, por los que muchas personas sentimos que estamos más comunicadas y más estrechamente unidas con otras, como nunca antes lo habíamos estado.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">También observamos como en algunas industrias, las máquinas producen más que los hombres, reduciendo los puestos de trabajo y produciendo más cantidad de mercancía en menor tiempo y a menor coste, también hemos visto los alcances de la tecnología en medicina, genética y pare de contar, ya que serían innumerables los ejemplos que podemos poner.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Pero toda realidad, al igual que las monedas, tiene dos caras, si es cierto que existen estos grandes beneficios, también es cierto que hay grandes perjuicios para la sociedad, que apenas estamos empezando a ver, dado que los beneficios en estos momentos, opacan lo negativo de ciertas condiciones que se están empezando a hacer cotidianas en nuestra vida. </div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">De hecho y creo es indudable, la visión del Gran Hermano de George Orwell, está más vigente que nunca en nuestra sociedad. Por eso me atrevo a decir que si es cierto la tecnología a servido para dar cierto nivel de acceso a las informaciones, ciertos niveles de libertad, ha aumentado nuestros niveles de vida y ha generado nuevas maneras de producir, también es cierto, que también sirve para controlar y someter a sociedades enteras.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Lo que es una gran diferencia con la espiritualidad, dado que está, lejos de someter y de controlar libera y ayuda al crecimiento de la consciencia humana. Entendiendo que arriba hicimos una diferenciación entre lo que es religión y espiritualidad.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">En su libro la Condición Humana, la filosofa Hannah Arendt, nos comenta, que factores como el trabajo, la comunicación, la interacción social y el carácter gregario, son aspectos fundamentales de la condición humana. Del mismo modo, la misma autora cuando nos habla de su teoría sobre la Banalidad del Mal, en su libro Eichmann en Jerusalén, nos lleva por los intrincados caminos de la moralidad, el deber, las creencias, la obediencia, la religión y la espiritualidad de una manera majestuosa, dado que entrelaza todos estos temas y los enfoca en un hecho real y concreto, donde uno realmente se ve obligado a enfrentar los conceptos, creencias y posturas que posee. Lo que nos lleva a entender mucho mejor, al igual que aquello que nos hace humanos.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Por otro lado Bauman, en sus libros La Sociedad Sitiada, En Busca de La Política y la Sociedad Liquida, nos plantea como nuestra sociedad se va aislando cada vez más gracias a la tecnología, de hecho coloca varios ejemplos interesantes, siendo uno de ellos el enorme nivel de soledad y de aislamiento que sienten nuestros jóvenes y que se percibe abiertamente en nuestra sociedad.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Una sociedad, donde cada vez más usamos medios tecnológicos como los teléfonos inteligentes, para comunicarnos y a la vez dejar comunicarnos, aunque tengamos a la otra persona frente a nosotros. Cuántas veces no hemos vivido en carne propia que estamos con unos amigos o con familiares y estando en la misma mesa, es imposible mantener una conversación, dado que la otra persona o las otras personas están inmersas en los mensajes y los juegos del teléfono, cuántas veces no hemos visto a personas adolescentes o adultos sentirse solos, teniendo cientos de seguidores en el Facebook u otras redes sociales.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">La espiritualidad es todo lo contrario a esta práctica de aislamiento, es la unión con el eterno y al experimentar esas experiencias, te sientes más cercano y unido al prójimo. Por eso decía, párrafos arriba que la religión y la espiritualidad a veces se entrelazan y eso se debe a que en la praxis religiosa, por lo menos en occidente, hay un rito grupal que permite, de una u otra manera, según la fe de quien haga la vida espiritual, sentirse cerca del Eterno y compartir con otros a través de una experiencia grupal, esa vinculación espiritual con la espiritualidad misma.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Ya sea que se logre esa experiencia en la misa para las católicos, la sinagoga para los judíos, la mezquita para los musulmanes, las tenidas para los masones y así sucesivamente, con cada religión, fe, creencia o escuela filosófica.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">En fin, la tecnología es una herramienta que sirve para el bien o para el mal, depende de como la usemos, lo mismo pasa con las religiones y las visiones particulares que tengamos de estás cada uno de los que hagamos o dejemos de hacer vida en ellas, pero en ambas hay bondades y maldad, armonía y discordia, dependiendo de como la usemos y el para que lo usemos.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Mientras que la espiritualidad va más allá de todo lo comentado, la espiritualidad, entendiendo a la misma ya sea como Consciencia Universal, Dios, El Eterno, El Gran Arquitecto del Universo, Numen Tutelar, o como deseemos llamarla, es el principio y el final de todo y de todos.</div> <p>

<div class="text-justify">Y si es cierto, que la Espiritualidad o la Consciencia Universal, nos hizo a su imagen y semejanza y poco inferior a los Dioses, también es cierto que nos dio el discernimiento y el libre albedrío. Por lo tanto el uso de la tecnología, como herramienta por parte de nosotros los humanos, sea para bien o para mal es única y absolutamente responsabilidad nuestra, no endosable al Espíritu Divino o Nuestro Numen Tutelar.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Lo que si debemos tener claro son dos cosas, ninguna máquina, ni ninguna tecnología, podrá superar el calor del abrazo humano en el momento indicado, el de la palabra oportuna, el del beso dado con amor, o el abrazo de una madre a su hijo. </div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Así como tampoco podrá jamás superar o acercarse a la experiencia tan personal, singular e irrepetible, que es un encuentro con la espiritualidad, esa vivencia es inenarrable, cambia la vida de una persona por completo una vez que se vive y experimenta y siendo la misma inexplicable, es imposible ser entendida por quien nunca la ha vivido. </div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">En fin, la espiritualidad y la tecnología si pueden vivir en el mismo espacio y lugar, depende de nosotros darles su justo lugar.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Con respecto a la experiencia espiritual, una vez alguien me preguntó ¿Que se siente vivir una experiencia espiritual real? Al no saber que responder le dije, imaginate o recuerda el orgasmo que marco tu vida, con la persona que más amaras, ahora multiplica ese sentimiento a la enésima potencia y siéntelo en cada célula de tú cuerpo, pero por un tiempo interminable, sólo que en realidad fue mínimo el tiempo de la experiencia, pero a la vez interminable, algo así creo que se acerca a lo que se siente, pero no estoy seguro de poder describirlo o acercarme a lo que realmente se siente con palabras. Esa persona me miró, se paró y se fue, luego volteó y me miró de manera incrédula y después de ese día no lo vi más.</div> <p>
<div class="text-justify">Así que creo que no hay mejor manera de resumir todo esto escrito que con un poema de Santa Teresa de Jesús, Monja Carmelita Descalza, Dra. De La Iglesia Católica y una de las místicas más profundas de la iglesia. (Entendiendo el misticismo para este post, cómo la búsqueda consciente y activa del ser humano con el Eterno).</div> <p>
