James was invited by a university to give a concert together with other singer-songwriters. It was a study centre in the interior of the country, near the indigenous areas. He accepted and went with all the pleasure to participate. In addition, at that time James was in a period of searching for new topics and experiences that would inspire him to create new content, and he thought, it would be a good opportunity to meet new people and experiences.


James' concert was a success, and at the end of the presentation, he met university professors, guests of the event and students. After that experience, James felt lost, so when he arrived at the house, he began to ask the teachers, if he was not going to make a request to God and nature for rain. 



The teachers saw him and said, "That's what we did, only we do it, as we learned from our ancestors."



We do not ask God and the Universe, as you ask in your peoples, because by doing so, we are denying His blessings and his gifts, what we do is give thanks to the Eternal for all his goodness and blessings, then, we do something like what the Bible says, when it says when “When two or more unite in my name, I will be there with them.”

James es un poeta y músico muy conocido en su país. Algunas personas dicen que él es una nueva versión de Bob Dylan. Sin embargo, James no se ve, ni se siente así, y mucho menos se cree una persona especial. Todo lo contrario, él se ve como un hombre común, y por eso mantiene esa humildad que lo caracteriza. 

Él se dedicó desde muy joven a escribir poesía y canciones, después de terminar la secundaria se fue a la universidad a estudiar literatura, y ahí mientras estudiaba, su música y su poesía se dieron a conocer, primero en el campus, después en la ciudad y después en el país y a nivel internacional.

Eso hacía que James se sintiera muy bien, no solo por el hecho de ser un artista conocido, sino que él sentía que estaba en un proceso de búsqueda espiritual y de darle un mayor y diferente sentido a la vida, y esas esperanzas, esas expectativas y esa búsqueda, él la reflejaba en sus letras y en sus canciones que tanto gustaban a la gente, por eso, James, sentía que buena parte de la humanidad estaba en un proceso de cambio y de búsqueda, que terminaría haciendo a la sociedad más justa y más humana, lo que lo llenaba de una gran expectativa para el futuro.

James fue invitado por una universidad a dar un concierto junto a otros cantautores. Era un centro de estudios en el interior del país, cerca de las zonas indígenas. Él aceptó y se fue con todo el gusto para participar. Además, en esos momentos James estaba en un período de búsqueda de nuevos temas y experiencias que lo inspiraran a crear un nuevo contenido y pensó, que sería una buena oportunidad de conocer nuevas personas y experiencias.

El concierto de James, fue un éxito, y al terminar la presentación, conoció a profesores de la universidad, invitados al evento y estudiantes. Él se hizo muy amigo de unos profesores de descendencia indígena, con los cuales entabló unas conversaciones bastante profundas sobre la vida, la naturaleza y la espiritualidad. James quedó muy impactado con las conversaciones y mostró un gran interés por la cultura de los pueblos indígenas.

Después de varias semanas, cuando las universidades entraron de vacaciones, James, recibió una invitación de los profesores indígenas para que fuera a visitarlos en su comunidad. James se fue encantado con la idea de convivir con los pueblos originarios de su país. Al estar con ellos, comenzó a aprender de su cultura y de su espiritualidad.

James se quedó impresionado al ver la relación que ellos tenían con la naturaleza y de la forma en que ellos se comunicaban con ella, lo que le hizo abrir su visión del mundo en abanico enorme.

James fue invitado a la celebración, él pensaba que iba a ser un núcleo de oraciones y peticiones, como sucede en las culturas occidentales, sin embargo, lo que vio le cambió el mundo, debido a que las personas no llegaron a orar y a pedir con súplicas de miedo o dolor, sino todo lo contrario, le dieron gracias a Dios, la naturaleza y la vida por todo lo que habían recibido, después se quitaron los zapatos y sintieron lo que era caminar sobre la tierra húmeda, y echaron algo de agua sobre la tierra y dieron gracias por el olor de la lluvia que les da y regenera la vida, al igual que el sol.

Después de esa experiencia, James se sentía perdido, así que cuando llegó a la casa, comenzó a preguntar a los profesores, si no se iba a realizar una petición a Dios y a la naturaleza por la lluvia. 

Los profesores lo vieron y le dijeron "Eso es lo que hicimos, solo que lo hacemos, como lo aprendimos de nuestros ancestros".

Nosotros no le pedimos a Dios y al Universo, como piden ustedes en sus pueblos, ya que al hacerlo así, estamos negando sus bendiciones y sus dones, nosotros lo que hacemos es darle gracias al Eterno por todas sus bondades y bendiciones, después, hacemos algo como lo que dice la Biblia, cuando dice cuando “Cuando dos o más se unan en mi nombre, ahí estaré yo junto a ellos”.

Nosotros lo hacemos de forma diferente, nos unimos como comunidad, pero no para pedir, sino para sentir y mandar ese mensaje de amor y bondad al universo, hoy viste como un pueblo unido, sintió el piso humeo, el olor de la lluvia y la abundancia que ella nos da, y la alegría que nos genera, esa es nuestra oración y ya verás que pronto lloverá.

Efectivamente, al final del día siguiente comenzó a llover, la gente estaba muy contenta, los niños jugaban, las mujeres cantaban y los hombres se alegraban por sus cosechas, y todos daban gracias a Dios, por sus bendiciones.

James quedó muy emocionado e impactado por esa experiencia, y de ahí él sacó un mar de inspiración para sus nuevas canciones y poemas, sacando un nuevo álbum llamado, “La oración como canción” donde su música y sus letras planteaban una nueva forma de comunicarse con Dios y con el mundo, que superaba por muchos las limitaciones, que él veía y criticaba, de las religiones occidentales establecidas.

Finalmente, James no solamente consiguió una inspiración, sino un nuevo camino que le ayudaba a entender y profundizar más en la vida espiritual y el cambio en la sociedad que tanto deseaba.
