One of the world's oldest recorded trees is a 9550 year old spruce in the Dalaria Province of Sweden. Growing between erect trees and bushes it was sheltered by them and so preserved.
There are colonies of clonal trees that have lived ten thousands of years, bearing witness to the rise and fall of civilizations, they survived climate changes and the ravages of human development.

Fitzroya Cupressonites, is a tall skinny evergreen tree in the Andes Mountains, and is 3600 years old.
Many of the oldest trees were logged over the years in the Andes but this specimen was preserved.

SENATOR TREE
At the time of the Phoenicians ,3,500 years ago, a tiny cypress germinated in the swamps of Central Florida., and survived as a large tree until 2012, when a 26 year old woman burnt it to the ground. Little wonder there are tree huggers in modern day!
This tree was known as the Senator, it was 118 feet tall,and one of the oldest organisms in the world. It survived diseases, logging and hurricanes. It served as a landmark for Seminole Indians and in Victorian times as tourist attraction.
OLD TJIKKO, SWEDEN
Another old tree is Old Tjikko in Sweden and is thought to be the oldest living tree and is 9550 years old!.

It is a 16 feet Spruce in the Dalarna Province of Sweden, and although it looks like a tree out of the Charlie Brown Christmas tree in comics, it has a root system that was carbon dated, and traced back when the British Isles were still connected to Europe by an Ice bridge.
METHUSELAH ,CALIFORNIA
Bristle cone pine tree, in the White mountains California, and the oldest non clonal tree in the world. The location is a kept secret as the only other specimen was chopped down by a scientist.

It is a beautiful Yew tree.
There are a number of ancient Olive trees in various ancient cities. Mostly they are still producing fruit.
TRAIGURA, SPAIN.
This tree has a circumference of 1,000 meters and are estimated to be thousands of years old. It is an amazing Olive tree still fruit bearing.
BAOBAB TREE, AFRICA.
In Africa we find the strange Baobab tree, the tree of life and others are also centuries old as recorded.

REDWOODS, CALIFORNIA.
Known to be the tallest trees in the world with a magnificent display in the forests. They have ,and can live for thousands of years and are protected in National Parks, as logging has depleted a number of the species.
John Steinbeck wrote "The Redwoods once seen leave a mark that stays with you always.....they are ambassadors from another time".
