It's mixing form a digital currency with goods and services... so there are plumbers, mechanics, optometrists, printers, hotels, restaurants - and a lot more in the group -- and they price their services in the currency (which is tethered to the US dollar). 

They don't allow their currency to be traded or cashed out - because of concerns it would destabilize the value...
