Sturm and Drang, a Freewrite Poem

Evacuation is no laughing matter
so many things can go wrong
the flood could come at any moment
and engulf you in sturm and drang

You have to get your stuff out!
As quickly as you possibly can.
You run about holding it all
getting into position to land

It's easy to know that you must go
and you make like mad to proceed
to the locale of your necessity
and the satisfaction of need

for all things sensible
and all things clean
and all things functioning
so that afterwards you can preen

in the mirror of a self satiation
that only evacuation can effect -
a job well done, all things in their place.
At this one thing, you are not inept!

We all run nowhere in particular
hoping this movement won’t strike
at inopportune moments and odd places
such as dancing in a night club at night

Daily at least, one would hope
because evacuate we must.
Go fill the bowl with fecal material
and hope that the toilet will flush

This is my entry to @mariannewest's [daily freewrite challenge](https://peakd.com/hive-161155/@mariannewest/day-1436-5-minute-freewrite-sunday-prompt-evacuate). Today's prompt is ***evacuate***.

It's been awhile since I tried to write a rhyming freewrite. As usual, when I try to write nonsense, out comes something that makes perfect sense. I wrote for 4 minutes and 30 seconds, then tinkered with the piece for a few more minutes, mostly taking shit out. I admit I had to look up something appropriate that would rhyme with *wrong*, which led me to *sturm and drang*.

"And hope that the toilet will flush" - what a way to end a poem! #Love it!
Sturm und Drang: how I love those words! Esp. as spoken by a native German. I butcher the accent like Hogan's Heroes did. (Early imprinting.) Authentic German sounds more beautiful to me than French. Thank you for a poem that starts out dark--the urgency, the rush to get out before the flood rushes in, the hasty decision on what to pack out other than your own self - but the poem finishes with a note of humor.
