There's something my pastor always says: "Dare to fail," and he said he learned this from one of Steve Harris's podcasts many years ago. Where he was urging his audience to dare to fail while attempting to do something big and worthwhile. Failure is a part of life, and the earlier we see it as a stepping stone, the better for us. I can't count the number of times I have failed in life and how hurt I was. There were some that left me broken, while some of those failures were the propeller I needed to channel my energy into something better.

 There was a time I was so bent on breaking free financially that I started learning Java and software development. I registered for this course and was motivated to push through no matter what. The first two weeks everything was looking like gibberish, and the more I pressed in, the more it looked like I was doomed to fail. After something I started having constant migraine headaches, and I had to advise myself to stop, and my success in life is not really tied to anything tech. Even though I failed, I was glad I tried something different, but I don't think I would ever go back down that road.

I remembered when I first saw my first semester exams in 100 level, I was shocked to my bones. Just like every other student, I studied hard and never expected to have a carryover but was shocked when I saw it. I cried so much and complained to the exam officer that they should look for my script because I was so confident of what I wrote, but no one gave me an audience, and because I didn't want to see a carryover in my results again, I took all my courses very seriously. Even a course that didn't need much of my attention during study, and till I graduated, I never had carryover again. Maybe if I didn't have that carryover, I wouldn't have known how seriously I was supposed to take my academics.

One thing I have learned about failure is that it is not the end of life but a stepping stone to success and growth. Instead of being scared of failure or failing, one should dare to fail rather than live in regret afterwards. Failure has a way of shaping our minds; it will teach you resilience, humility, and valuable lessons. Failure is an opportunity to reassess yourself to become better and stronger.
