What Happens When Google Disagrees With You?

<p>Former Google software engineer James Damore was fired for disagreeing with Google's (left-wing) orthodoxy. &nbsp;There have been many articles written about it in the media - most of which confuse a lot of issues. This video lays out the reason why James Damore was fired in very simple easy to understand terms.</p>
<p>I have been growing more and more concerned about big tech companies like Google, Twitter, and Facebook. A couple of weeks ago I posted <a href="https://steemit.com/life/@ozphil/who-will-google-silence-next">Who Will Google Silence Next?</a> and <a href="https://steemit.com/news/@ozphil/tired-of-google-censorship-there-is-an-alternative">Tired of Google censorship - there is an alternative.</a></p>
<p>On the bright side, I have been using <a href="https://duckduckgo.com/">DuckDuckGo</a> as an alternative to Google search for a few weeks now and frankly have not missed Google search at all. Just switching the default search engine in your browser to <a href="https://duckduckgo.com/">DuckDuckGo</a> is one tangible step you can take to tell Google to stop their censorship.</p>
<p>But Google is much more then just search as you know. Another way Google and Apple have been blocking free speech is by locking <a href="https://gab.ai/">gab.ai</a> (a Twitter alternative) out of their App stores. Their APP stores are a virtual duopoly, so if they lock your app out because they do not like the speech contained therein - then it makes it much harder for the app to gain traction. I am coming to believe this is an Anti-Trust issue that needs to be prosecuted by the DOJ (With Attorney General Jeff Sessions asleep at the wheel on so many important issues - do not expect any action soon).</p>
<p>We live in a Free Market - if you do not like the way Big Tech is censoring free speech - then the way you tell them is by voting with your feet and finding alternative products/services to use. &nbsp;Ultimately it is up to you.</p>
