Lets start with what I think ripple is in a couple of bullet points

- 99 billion coins that are all premined, and more can be released at the developers will. (Making a large evaluation in the hundreds and thousands per coin, fairly unlikely since if the supply ever outweighed the demand a larger supply would be issued.)
- Majority of the coins are held by the Ripple developers. (Meaning it is not decentralized and the blockchain is whatever the developers say it is, rather than the truth.)
- 100s of bank and financial institutions are using the coin, because it will be cheap, fast, and overseen by a sort of corporation that they can work with. (The truth to why it is on a run and will continue to be on a run.

So I just gave this coin 2 huge dings and then followed it up by it is going to go higher in price. I know its a little ironic, but that is exactly what Ripple the "Cryptocurrency" is. IRONY.

Irony in that Ripple is not a true cryptocurrency spawned from bitcoin and all those that preceded it. The bitcoin blockchain/ledger can never be manipulated without a large scale attack requiring an enormous amount of computing power to hijack the network. This is of core importance to cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies that the trust-less system that is cryptocurrencies rely on. The Ripple project laughed at this concept; with no miners and the majority of coin being in the hands of one party, the development team, it is required that you trust those developers with the entire system, and at that point we just have a faster international monetary transfer system rather than a new world wide currency. With that said I'm not nocking Ripple a faster money transfer system is desperately needed for the 21st century and the speed of which the age of information requires. ACH and similar bank transfers are just too slow these days.

So for that last reason Ripple is assuredly going to go higher, to some point. My guess would be between 5-10 dollars before it is at its peaks. Giving a 500% return at best from the current price today, around $2.00. Etherium, Bitcoin and several if not dozens of other crypto currencies have a lot more growth potential than that as they have a new form of money as the pinnacle of success they can reach, rather than a new way of momentarily transferring money.

If it is an investment with large returns you want, there are other places you could be in other coins with more reward potential. If just some gains you are looking for with as little risk as possible that you will find in the Crypto world, than maybe Ripple is right for you. 

As someone who has been around crypto currencies for some time though, it bugs me when people call this a cryptocurrency so all I ask call it what it is a money transfer protocol, one that you can invest into.

PS on another note and for a later post that I will elaborate on. STEEM can do the exact thing that Ripple does for no fees and in a decentralized way. So invest in Steem if you believe in decentralization, invest in Ripple if you believe in corporations and want to invest in that companies money transfer protocol.

I have a little Ripple in my portfolio so I am not mocking anyone who chooses to invest into the Ripple corporations money transfer protocol, I regularly invest into stocks as well which I view as a pretty comparable investment. But for cryptocurrency holdings,  my position in Ripple is very small compared to the other coins I hold.
