# WHAT ARE THE FACTIONS? 

Factions are the different groups or cultures that can be used by an origin although some of the officers and crew have traits that make them compatible with various origins, for example:

Alanna has the traits Military and Civilian, therefore can be used by these origins:

Thats a lot of origins that actually can use her!, this will make the card way more valuable since it can be used by almost all the origins that we know actually. 

# HOW MANY FACTIONS ARE IN EXODE? 

Thats indeed a question that is still an incognita, although some of them have been leaked by some of the cards we have seen so far. Those that we know right now are:

## Syndicate: 

The faction that represents to the yakuza, we can obtain these cards with the syndicate contract. They are also available for the origins because some of their cards have compatible traits, like the Socialite which has civilian and military, then it could be used with the origins mentioned before. Anyways there is another key card that makes the syndicate very accesible for all the origins, the syndicate chip. With this equipment you allow any origin to use the syndicate cards. 

## Geneticians:

These are scientists who have their own agenda, they're supposed to have some traits in common with the regular scientists. There is few info about them but we know what is their ship.

## Nomads: 

The most mysterious faction until now, we don't know almost nothing about them, except that they are reflected in game FAQ's:

> Many Faction crews (Syndicate, Nomads, Geneticians...)

We also know one of their characters though:

## Tryskelian survivors: 

Another mysterious faction, there is very few info about them still. One of their characters has been revealed, Scarlett Sarah but without any stats of her:

## Suntek: 

This faction has their own technology that seems very powerful, today was revealed their ship. We don't know their main characteristics nor their history.

### Conclusion:

There is an inmense universe of cultures, diverse groups (like pirates, federals, corporativists) in Exode. The posibilities to build your own theme from the vast amount of characters and civilizations available is inmense. Although there are interesting and very informative articles so far (I recommend especially to look at @Khazrakh's articles) there is much more going on. The information available is way less than what is still to come about the game. 

In Elindos words 
> the world in 2325 is fractured, as we can expect with "cold colonization" (old cases of colonization taking decades and forgotten for some time, then pinging back)
and "hot space rush" which happened with the better hyperdrives if our current world is already proposing so many gangs, nations, countries, cultures, we can imagine it going further in the future

These upcoming weeks and months will be thrilling for those who are interested in the game and I have no doubt about the success of it. If you're a gamer and you like sci-fi you can't miss the chance to joining to Exode. 

I have no words to express my admiration for the visionary concept by Elindos and his crew, the crowd that is surrounding this proyect is very nice also, they will help you in whatever they can.
