Hola, querido hiver.

Mis ojos buscaban los árboles esta mañana. Quedan apenas unas horas para que la primavera tome posesión de su asiento en el calendario y las plantas despiertan de su letargo invernal. Los colores del paisaje están cambiando y me sirven de excusa para maravillarme ante el milagro de la vida que la naturaleza nos regala.

Aprovecho para probar mis habilidades con la fotografía. Me doy cuenta de que antes tendía en exceso a realizar instantáneas amplias. En ellas nada cobraba protagonismo, eran una suerte de copias de mi estado anímico, donde la huida prevalecía ante la valentía de afrontar el desengaño. 

Ahora ocurre justo lo contrario, cosa que me alegra y no me importa (¡no, ya no!) lo que los demás puedan opinar. Busco el detalle, esos pequeños instantes de inspiración. A veces hago decenas de fotografías para descartar casi todas y quedarme con un pequeño puñado. Pero lejos de pensar que fallo mucho, las considero el entrenamiento que todo maestro realiza. Para alguien que era y es perfeccionista, es complicado de gestionar. Me felicito por conseguirlo.

### Mi reflexión
Séneca dio ejemplo y cumplió su palabra y deseo hasta sus últimas consecuencias. En mi modesto nivel, nada comparable al suyo, procuro moverme bajo los mismos principios. Es duro afrontar la soledad de quien se siente incomprendido o que parece predicar en el desierto. Y en cambio la recompensa es una satisfacción y un sentimiento de libertad plena, con todo el valor que tiene.

Es lógico que nadie en su sano juicio desee protagonizar ninguna desgracia. Me pregunto por qué veo tan pocos ocupándose de prevenir su llegada. Encuentro que el sentido común está de vacaciones desde hace años. Como los habitantes de Sodoma y Gomorra, nos entregamos a los placeres mundanos, instantáneos y pasajeros, abandonando el cultivo de aquellos que, sí, cuestan más trabajo lograr su crecimiento, pero los frutos que entregan son los más dulces de la cosecha.

Al igual que no existe mal que cien años dure, asimismo las épocas de vacas gordas son propicias para hacer acopio de provisiones porque éstas también se terminan en algún momento. Y no avisan. Cuando estás acostumbrada a vivir de la forma más sencilla posible esos cambios te asustan menos. Si le sumas que ya superaste otras temporadas oscuras, sabes que no duran para siempre. Depende de ti prepararte para que te golpeen con menos fuerza.

Hi, dear hiver.

My eyes were searching for the trees this morning. There are only a few hours left before spring takes its seat on the calendar and the plants awake from their winter slumber. The colours of the landscape are changing and give me an excuse to marvel at the miracle of life that nature gives us.

I take the opportunity to try my hand at photography. I realise that before I tended to take too many wide shots. In them nothing took centre stage, they were a sort of copy of my state of mind, where flight prevailed over the courage to face disappointment.

Now it's just the opposite, which makes me happy and I don't care (no, not any more!) what others might think. I look for the detail, those little moments of inspiration. Sometimes I take dozens of photographs only to discard almost all of them and keep a small handful. But far from thinking that I fail a lot, I consider them as the training that every master does. For someone who was and is a perfectionist, it is difficult to manage. I congratulate myself for achieving it.

### My reflection
Seneca set an example and kept his word and his wish to the last consequences. In my modest level, nothing comparable to his, I try to move according to the same principles. It is hard to face the loneliness of those who feel misunderstood or who seem to be preaching in the desert. And yet the reward is satisfaction and a feeling of complete freedom, with all the value it has.

It stands to reason that no one in their right mind would want to be the protagonist of any misfortune. I wonder why I see so few taking care to prevent their arrival. I find that common sense has been on holiday for years. Like the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah, we indulge in worldly, instantaneous and transient pleasures, abandoning the cultivation of those which, yes, cost more to grow, but the fruits they yield are the sweetest of the harvest.

Just as there is no evil that lasts a hundred years, so too the fat cows are propitious for stockpiling provisions because they too will run out at some point. And there is no warning. When you are used to living as simply as possible, these changes are less frightening. Add to that the fact that you've already made it through other dark seasons, and you know they don't last forever. It's up to you to prepare yourself so that they hit you less hard.
