What you may or may not see in the cover photo is a Gray Tree Frog, or possibly a Cope's Gray Tree Frog. The only way I'm aware of to tell the difference between those two species is their call, and this one never said anything...

In these photos it's rather obvious why they call them "Gray Tree Frogs," but they are not always gray. They can also turn a mostly solid green, a very light, pale gray, or be a combination of the green and gray, where they basically look like lichen-covered rocks. To watch them change color is a sight to behold.

As you can see from the photos, a very dark gray camouflage comes in handy when you're in a similarly-colored environment, like the one we found on our log pile. We consider these to be part of our organic pest control posse, and were just impressed with the camouflage on the last one we found, so we felt like sharing. Here's a few more pics. Enjoy!
