On a recent survival kayak trip down the Buffalo National River we were only allowed minimal gear, so I had to get creative. My son found me some bamboo to use as a fishing pole and I located some blue polystyrene that I crafted into a functioning bobber. While the Smallmouth Bass I caught using it wasn't able to join me for dinner because it wasn't legal size, the bobber still worked, so it was a success. Congratulations on winning your trip! What a beautiful place to go kayaking too. I think it has been almost 20 years since I've been to the Buffalo River.
