Lucky you are and my favorite temperatures are between 18-24C.
Yes it must have been difficult for you on holiday in the higher temperatures.  Ice in front of the fan lasts for 30 minutes and then it has to be refilled. So it is a lot of up and downs from the bedroom to the kitchen and back.
I am looking for a more lasting solution.

So bad to have to stay inside as I feel claustrophobic milady.
So we take short trips out and I try to stay in the shade wherever we go. We will see many sunstroke victims again as many will just not listen to good advice (including me) 🤣

That's the problem Hannes, we cannot open the windows because the mosquitos will come in and have a party inside. So I am now starting to make mozzie screens for the windows.
They have screens on sale, but they are very expensive and so it is better to make my own.

I put the cloud photos in here to show how the day changes and that late afternoon haze clearly shows how hot it is.

Oh yeah, that is indeed hot and I am glad that you know what I am talking about.
I edited the post today with news in that some areas in Australia have equaled a 62 year old record with 52,7C temperatures. So yes, hot is hot and one just have to survive.

Thank you for the advice and we have the misters here at some restaurants, but I think that they will be too expensive for us. It's not a thing that we can see at people's homes here. I will have a look at the prices.

Swamp coolers are new to me and no idea, but I will ask Mrs. Google as it sounds interesting and I have to keep our PC'S cool in the study. We have a little fan, but it only circulates hot air.

Our summer was at about 4 moths, but lately it has stayed hot into 6 months. We are situated with the Atlantic ocean at the west and the Indian ocean at the right and that's why we are known worldwide as "The Cape of Storms". This place is the graveyard of many ships along our coastlines. We are also known to have all 4 seasons in one day.
So yes it's a tricky, but beautiful place to live.

I had an Hungarian uncle that was married to one of my mom's best friends (they were like sisters), years ago when I was a child. But sadly I didn't know him too well.

Wow, -35.50C is very cold as our big meat storage cold rooms over here run at -32C.
I also have friends in Austria and other cold countries and it is indeed a totally different lifestyle compared to what we have in Africa.

I suppose that I don't have to tell you to keep warm, as you are used to it !LOLZ
