I got these little ones at the top of a tree across the road.

First up is a little Swee Waxbill, and the first time that I got one at the high top.

Then we will move on to a little Southern Double-collared Sunbird, and they are the most difficult to get singing on camera. I have posted the waxbills and the sunbirds multiple times before, and they just continue to fascinate me. So, when I take a short break at home, I put a chair outside in our front garden, and I keep an eye out at the treetops. This day I got lucky, and you will see in here what I mean.

This above is the high tree across the road from our place, and the birds sat at the top above the streetlamp. Of course I got them on the zoom.

Finally, he decided that I was no threat and he burst into song.

The Southern Double-collared Sunbird (Cinnyris chalybus) is known as the best singer of all the sunbird species. It is also the smallest of the sunbird species. The king of the sunbirds is the Malachite, as it is crowned as the best looker, but sadly it can only sing in a mono-tone.

*The southern double-collared sunbird or lesser double-collared sunbird (Cinnyris chalybeus) is a small passerine bird which breeds in southern Africa. It is mainly resident, but partially migratory in the north-east of its range.
This sunbird is common in gardens, fynbos, forests and coastal scrub. The southern double-collared sunbird breeds from April to December, depending on region. The closed oval nest is constructed from grass, lichen and other plant material, **bound together with spider webs**. It has a side entrance which sometimes has a porch, and is lined with wool, plant down and feathers.*

He sat in on a bougainvillea bush branch sipping nectar from a flower.

Happy with his drink he popped up to sing, and I am glad that he didn't straighten out, as there was a big thorn on the branch right near his bum :))

Finally, his missus sat peeping at him from an acacia tree next door.

I am one of those who is more outside than inside the house, as I believe that inside is for admin, food, shower, and sleep. Meanwhile, outside there is a totally different world called nature, and I am a child of nature. There is so much to see and so little time. Every second that ticks by, is nearer to my journey on this planet, and therefore I don't have any time to waste. I believe in living a quality life, with good long-time friends and like-minded people. Life, as we all know, can get very difficult, but we simply have to understand that no setbacks or whatever you call them will last forever. In fact, there is nothing that will last forever, except love and kindness to the self and to all others. That's the way to be.
