The number of real-world enterprising people here on Hive no longer surprises me, we have people from all walks of life with different stories to tell and different experiences to share. I've met artists, doctors, lawyers, artisans, chefs, engineers and so much more. My amazement always seems to be that the seemingly exciting careers they lead every other day doesn't seem to deter them from getting involved in things they enjoy doing so much and passively earning money while at it. 

In an article by [Good Financial Cents](https://www.goodfinancialcents.com/hobbies-that-make-money/) listing out a few of the most financially lucrative hobbies out there, it was obvious to me that Hive is a haven where many of these multifaceted and multitalented people exist. This in my opinion is a result of the supportive communities that help bring the best out of us. A few of the hobbies listed in the article include writing, photography, fitness and workout routines, cooking etc. It struck me that all of the listed hobbies have communities on Hive with great backing and events that sees members be their best selves doing something that makes them happy while passively earning an income.

Personally, my friend and inspiration on this front has to be my good friend here in Nigeria who when I first met already had a Mechanical Engineering degree and was chasing a post-graduate degree in Aerospace Engineering. But on our first meet that I was expecting to discuss all things sciencey and geeky started telling me about how much he loves writing and how it made him feel good about himself. I found that interesting because at the time, all I saw when I saw him was a testosterone-filled adrenaline junky. I wouldn't be completely wrong as knowing him made me realize he is very adventurous but also a darn good writer. I have seen him achieve a lot of his financial goals on this platform from writing while also being arguably the most quick-witted person I know.


They say time is money and I think it's great to spend your time on a hobby that also gives an avenue to make some money while giving you the satisfaction we derive from performing the particular action. Hive is one platform that has endless opportunities to achieve this goal, so if you are not actively using your hobbies to earn passively like me, Hive is a great place to start.
