Audacity In The Storm | The Best Or Worst Trade Of Our Lifetime?

The future of Steem has never seemed so uncertain, and like any good old crisis where a lot of upheaval and fear exists there also exists an endless array of opportunity for those not blinded by the hype. Or rather for those daring to make use of it.

I have been spending a great deal of time and energy these past years studying markets, trading psychology and also taken up programs from people I trust to teach me their trading methods in technical analysis. And while I have gotten quite a few great trades out of that I am still wrestling with myself as the biggest hurdle to making consistent profits from volatile markets. As any minorly experienced trader will know: In the end your own mental dialogue and insecurities will be the biggest hurdle to becoming consistently successful.

Trading is like the school of mastering oneself, to be aware of one's own tendencies, fears and rationales for doing any kind of activity within moving markets.

That all said: I hesitate but I have considered making a few audacious trades during this time because of the specialness of the situation Steem suddenly finds itself in. I don't want to say technicals go entirely out of the window but really: Anything could happen with Steem. Anything.

It could be hijacked completely through a grand strategy and it could be made the new facebook on purpose, leaving all of us early stakers who bailed on it during the Tron takeover regret our early departure (instead of just continuing to build that stake when the future of Steem was most uncertain.)

Likewise: It could also be argued that it would be wise to milk Steem as much as possible on its way out before all our SP are worth literally nothing. This could easily happen should exchanges decide to delist Steem. Hard to imagine this is something a blockchain could ever really recover from...

So while I have my trading strategies that work the majority of the time, I feel this is the time for no method - just for boldness.

The best trade of my life could be to just set a ridiculously low buy-in point for Steem, maybe for the potential that Mr. Sun (now after the Robin Hood'ed hardfork theft attempt) spontaneously decides he can't wait til next Wednesday when the vast majority of people who want out get their first powerdown.

If he got his major stake (the former Stinc ninja-mined stake) in a backroom deal, dumping Steem from 20 cents down to 5 or so might STILL be a profitable deal for him. Now, as I mentioned I could also see all of this as a major strategy to create intense waves of FUD around Steem just to shake everyone out and buy the whole thing up completely in order to be prepared for its mainstream debut that might still follow. Maybe next year, maybe 2022.

I know, we are pissed, even people on Hive follow the situation closely because we're really all Steemians at heart - the vision it once alleged to be standing for. But you have to realize: people don't generally care about this sort of stuff. No matter how important it factually is. They will eventually forget even the worst of red days, years later.

http://silverdoctors.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/bitcoin-crash1.png

Centralization and short term uncertainty have never been an issue for the mainstream consumer in the long run, not when Facebook had hearings about its data spying and not when Mt.Gox dragged the entire crypto market down with it that fateful day - time has passed and new people are still moving into this space who have never heard about all of this and probably never will. Scandals of major newspapers have been forgotten and even political parties who were caught red-handed still operate today and are being voted for by the masses...

If the gang are so intensely interested in hijacking Steem (which seems obvious by now) do you really think they don't have a plan how to maneuver all of this from here? Do you really think they are that incompetent, not knowing the effects these past developments would have on Steem and its future out in the public?

Well as you can see I am deeply weighing potential scenarios here.
But why am I mentioning all of this?

Because if the plan STILL IS AND ALWAYS WAS to completely own Steem before making it the new Facebook or Reddit luring in the entirety of the mainstream then a major opportunity arises with that for us as current stakeholders: Not only to hang on to our stake we still have now in the times when everyone is so certain Steem's price could never possibly rise again... but to also set an audacious and outrageous buy in point at the lowest lows imaginable. All time lows probably.

Think about it: IF the gang want Steem to succeed and especially if exchanges are already in on the plan (like the voting of some large exchanges in the first takeover attempt suggests) then this major dump that might be coming when Sun sells his stake or when countless Steemians bail after their 4 powerdowns the next 4 weeks... might be the best trade of a lifetime.

IT MIGHT ALSO BE THE WORST TRADE OF A LIFETIME, buying up useless shares a day before their delisting. Because if none of the above is true and it is in fact like it appears (that Steem is done for and will only go down from here never to recover) then even a dirt cheap buyin for Steem below 1 cent is still lost forever if Steem just implodes.

I just want you to be aware of

- the "mainstream" opinion that emerges on both Hive and Steem - namely that Steem couldn't possibly survive this -
- and the opposing view that this shakeout and all the upheaval might be just what the gang has always done: Creating fear and panic from a strategically conceived plan with multiple actors and ruses, just to shake everyone out and buy up all the assets for pennies on the dollar... before they put their entire marketing, media and politics machine to it just to make Steem hip and big again. If you want examples all you need to do is look in history, you might as well just look at previous bubbles of the financial industry or the chain of events surrounding people like Bill Gates and others of his calibre.

I am saying when everyone is certain Steem cannot survive and when you can live without getting 4 cents back for the Steem you paid much more for... it might be worth seeing how this all plays out instead of dumping it all like everyone and their grandmother will be doing for the next four weeks.

As I have written previously: do not underestimate the gang.

Mere segments of them could pump the price of Steem to 5 dollars and make you wish you would have just locked away your Steem keys when shit hit the fan instead of powering down like everyone else because you got conned by some Asian kid and an audaciously incompetent show.

Deception is part of the art of war.

And while I hope I am wrong I fear we're all being deceived because we ascribe to the gang incompetence when *mal intent* and *cunning* would describe their actions way better. Time will tell. I really am not certain which one it is, only that the one major fear day might be the best steem buy ever. And that major red day will be coming up soon I predict!
