La locha o lochita es una planta que conocí hace dos años. En casa de mi madre abunda y me la presentó al principio alabando sus propiedades oxigenantes para el cerebro. Me llamó la atención y me interesó tenerla en casa porque mi memoria y concentración se han deteriorado.

Después de que mi madre me hablara de la planta lochita, me interesó tenerla en casa así que me la regaló para que la consumiera y la plantara. Ahora crece libremente en mi jardín después de plantar un par de pequeños tallos con sus raíces en tierra muy húmeda. Es una planta rastrera fácil de plantar y cultivar. De hecho, ahora se ha extendido por todo el jardín. Se adueña del espacio y hay que dar gracias a Dios por ello.

La locha es una planta que consiente nuestro cerebro. Proporciona relajación y otros beneficios mentales. Estoy muy contenta de tenerla y deseo que todo el mundo la conozca. Cuando algún vecino viene a pedirme algunas hojas de mis otras plantas medicinales les muestro la lochita, poniéndola a su disposición para que la tomen y la planten en sus casas para su propio beneficio. Me encanta que la gente conozca y se beneficie de lo bueno.

Hace unos meses me enteré por una amiga que sus propiedades van más allá de oxigenar el cerebro. Me habló de sus ventajas en caso de tumores cerebrales, lo que me llamó poderosamente la atención ya que me dio un motivo más para cuidar esta plantita que aunque rastrera tiene una alta importancia para la salud.

Por mi amor a la locha recibo su premio con hojas que parecen medallones en lugar de pequeñas lochitas :)

Más recientemente, conversando con un señor electricista mientras realizaba una reparación en mi casa, me enteré de que la locha es la misma Centella Asiática. ¡Qué maravilla! Tantas veces me la han recetado en cápsulas los médicos por una u otra razón, mi reumatólogo internista, así como los cardiólogos que me han visto, los ginecólogos antes y después de una histerectomía, así como algunos cirujanos y gastroenterólogos que me han tratado por otras dificultades. En definitiva, cada vez estoy más asombrada y siento que sigo descubriendo los beneficios de la locha. Es hermoso tenerla en mi jardín a mi disposición.

Bueno, ahora me alegra saber que la lochita es la maravillosa centella asiática. Me emociona saber que es buena para mucho más de lo que inicialmente sabía.

Las hojas, el tallo y la raíz de la planta de locha son útiles.
<p>
Consumo la locha en infusión, como agua para el día y en ensalada. Para mi gusto tiene un sabor a lechuga, pero hay que usar poca cantidad porque su potente color verde da un toque amargo si te excedes en la cantidad.
<p>
**Para infusión:**
<p>
Se puede utilizar 1 hoja, con tallo y raíz si se desea, en una taza de agua caliente.
<p>
Si desea hacer una infusión hirviendo, utilice 2 hojas de lochita en 2 tazas de agua. Después de hervir apague el fuego y deje la infusión tapada durante 10 minutos.
<p>
**Para el agua:**
<p>
En mi caso tomo 1 tallo de locha, lo lavo bien, lo trituro y lo pongo en un litro de agua. Lo dejo concentrar toda la noche en la nevera y a partir de la mañana empiezo a beber pequeños vasos de esa agua durante el día.
<p>
**Para la ensalada:**
<p>
Utilizo dos o tres hojas con sus tallos bien lavados. En una tabla de cortar corto las hojas y los tallos en trozos pequeños. Lo añado a la ensalada de mi elección y lo aderezo al gusto.
