BEFORE YOU CLICK THE PROMOTE BUTTON

Hello guys, it's @pasaift.

So yesterday, a friend of mine after continious streaks of low earnings, decided to  try clicking the promote button and paying 1sbd to get his post promoted without consulting me. Well being new here, I guess he was thinking that by doing this, he'd get upvotes flowing all over his post.  Unfortunately, things didn't turn out like this. After 2day, all that the post earned at the time of my writing this was $0.20.

Now this shows that the 1sbd paid has been for naught.

let me elaborate to you guys how steemit promotion works. The way we have a lots of pages for the different tags, is also the same way that there is a page dedicated to promoted posts. Check it out here steemit.com/promoted. So when you make payment for that post of yours, all that simply happens is that your post is shifted, rather reflected on this page. Note that payment for promotion doesn't guarantee you lots of upvotes. you may end up not even recovering back your 1sbd. 

Now, you may ask why do some people still promote? You may have written a post you consider to be of interest to others, and of considerable quality and you require a larger viewing audience. then feel free to promote. You may get the upvotes you require. But don't go promoting any random post of yours, or those of low quality and expect that yu'd earn just because you paid for it. No! It doesn't work like that. so do consider contents of your post before promoting, so you wouldn't be at the loosing end after making payments. Hope you found this info relevant.
