Today was one of those days that filled me to the brim – not just with movement, but with emotion.

It began quietly, with the morning mist floating over the lake. A soft, almost dreamlike atmosphere. The kids were still asleep, snuggled under blankets, and the world outside was hushed. Then the sun broke through, and everything came to life.

We spent the first part of the day at the beach – sunshine, water, an inflatable obstacle course, and the classic lines: “Mom, look!”, “Dad, help me!”, “Let’s build a castle together!” I love those moments – their excitement, joy, and sandy hair tangled from fun. But what I cherish most is doing things together. All six of us, as a team.

At 3:00 PM came the main event: a motorboat ride. My husband, a little nervous but brave, took the wheel. It wasn’t easy – narrow port, bigger boats to navigate around, and a frozen app for navigation. But he did it. More than that – he was amazing. As we returned to the marina and the kids cheered, “Dad, you’re the best!”, I felt tears well up. That’s the magic of family – those small, proud moments that anchor us.

Afterward, we grabbed some lunch and ice cream, and the kids lounged around our little garden space and terrace. But what made the day extra special was what came next: just the two of us. A date night.

We took a romantic evening walk around Giżycko. Over 3 hours of conversation, laughter, hand-holding, and being us – not just “mom and dad,” but Patrycja and Adrian. Spouses. Friends. Lovers.

Zaczęło się o poranku – mgła nad jeziorem jak z kadru filmu. Cisza, mleczne niebo i dzieci, które jeszcze śpią, tuląc się pod kocami. Potem słońce szybko wygrało ten pojedynek, a dzień ruszył pełną parą.

Najpierw plaża – słońce, woda, tor przeszkód na jeziorze i klasyczne: "mamo, patrz!", "tato, zobacz!", "zróbmy razem zamek!". Kocham to. Kocham ich ciekawość, radość i mokre włosy posklejane piaskiem. Ale najbardziej lubię, gdy robimy coś razem. Całą szóstką.

O 15:00 czas na nasz punkt kulminacyjny: rejs motorówką. Mój mąż – dzielny, choć lekko spięty kapitan – poprowadził nas przez jezioro. Nie było lekko – ciasny port, większe jednostki, zawieszona nawigacja. Ale dał radę. Nawet więcej – spisał się genialnie. Gdy wracaliśmy do portu, a dzieci krzyczały: "Tatooo, jesteś najlepszy!", miałam łzy w oczach. Bo to są te chwile – kiedy czuję dumę, miłość i poczucie zespołu. Jesteśmy drużyną.

Po rejsie lody, jedzenie, dzieci odpoczywające na tarasie… i coś wyjątkowego – my, tylko we dwoje. Randka. Spacer po wieczornym Giżycku. Cisza, rozmowy, śmiech i patrzenie sobie w oczy tak, jak wtedy, gdy wszystko dopiero się zaczynało. Przez ponad trzy godziny zniknęliśmy z roli rodziców – po prostu byliśmy Patrycją i Adrianem. Mężem i żoną. Kochankami. Przyjaciółmi.

Bo w tym całym pięknym chaosie życia rodzinnego wiem jedno – jeśli my zapomnimy o sobie, to zgubimy kierunek. Dlatego dbamy o ten czas we dwoje. Celebrujemy go. I choć dzieci są dla nas całym światem, nasza relacja jest jego centrum.
