My first Cryptocurrency earned - $HBD

In life, we would always have our first times, first love, first kiss, first house, first skill, first investment, just name them. I never saw this coming - my first cryptocurrency. In my last post on [polycub](https://leofinance.io/@peckypeace/is-polycub-also-for-the-crypto-novice-and-unschooled), I sincerely expressed the depth of my poverty when it comes to knowledge about cryptocurrency. Happy that life offers us the opportunity to learn everyday. I have offered myself to be a student in this school of cryptocurrency.

In my today's post, I want to take you through the memory lane on how I got my first cryptocurrency.

It was in March 2021 after the covid holiday, I resumed school and got re-united with my family at school and that is the church. I met new friends and glad we had a new pastor, a youth-friendly one at that. It feels good to have him create a convenient environment for us to discuss academics, finance, relationships and other part of our lives in addition to spiritual. He encourages all of us to et creative and through him, I got to know about Hive.

My journey to earning cryptocurrency dates to 15th May 2021, I am 11 month old on hive. If Hive were a school I would have just completed my first year. You know, that's still a newbie. I had not really been on social media when I joined Hive. In fact, I was also a computer learner. It was a whole new experience for me and a very tasking one at that.

I have been creating written blogs here on Hive since May 2021. I write just about everything. Myself, I do model posts in the model agency community, I join writing prompts in the ecotrain community, submit daily actifit reports and mostly talk about my life experiences. Beautifully, all of these posts get upvoted and I earn my HBD and Hive Power. Trust me, I didn't know the full meaning of HBD (Hive-backed dollars) until today while preparing this post.

Before now, my friends who used social media didn't tell me they earn from it. I don't know how the miracle is done on Hive, all I know is that I create contents (posts and comments) and I get upvoted. After 7 days, I claim my $HBD and HP reward. I trade the HBD for Naira when I have the need for cash.

I am excited to make 954 posts and comments so far. It was never an easy journey. Some times it looks like you run short of words and ideas. Earning HBD, HIVE, POB, CENT, SPORTS and other tokens in my daily posts really sits well, especially as I am able to cover my data expenses while also covering some good part of my daily budget.

So far, I have earned $249 USD from my Hive posts. This is made up of about over 120 HBD and over 120 Hive. The $249 excludes my POB, CENT, SPORTS token, etc. I am happy that LEO would be added to my cryptocurrency earnings as I keep upgrading my content skills.

Actually, earning cryptocurrency has helped me in many ways I did not expected. From the first day I used my money from hive, I was so excited. It has solved many of my problems financially. I can testify that at school I don't get feeding money from my parents anymore. HBD earnings fixes that.

As God would like it, I am growing and I now begin to think investment. CENT, LEO and POLYCUB are my priority at the moment.
