Greetings, everyone!

I'm super excited this morning for all the things God has done for me, and you.

So today I'm going to share my opinion of coding or computer programming for children, whether it should be made compulsory or not. This topic is important and it's the argument for and against the importance it has on children. 

# The importance of coding

It's very important in today's world because it helps with digital literacy or skills that are teaching students how digital tools can be used in this age,  how to communicate with computers, and put them into specific assignments to perform tasks at any time needed. Furthermore, coding would help a child or student enhance logical thinking and the child into systematic problem-solving, which can go a long way in our world today. Learning coding offers great job opportunities in developing new features in AI, robotics, game design, and more. 

# Should coding be made compulsory for every child?

It is an argument for and an argument against. Not every child is interested in learning to code and some are eager and passionate about it. If it can be made compulsory for students in secondary schools, it should be integrated into the existing subjects like mathematics and science subjects for proper assimilation. It shouldn't be enforced on any child; some have the capacity, skills, and interest in computer programming, so when there is interest, they will be able to catch up and move on to exploring and digging out beautiful discoveries in the future. 

However, when we have prepared students and trained teachers on coding, it will encourage students to learn more. One thing is for the students to be ready, and another is for the teachers to be well-trained to make a great impact. Availability of computers should be made. Some schools do not have access to computer systems in the lab, which can kill student's dreams, and some students can be withdrawn from such Schools. This is a digital age, and some schools should make way for reconstruction in terms of the computer labs, which must be digital or modernized to the standard.

I had a boy in my church that is into coding. Before, he used to make shoes and teach mathematics, but he is into computer programming, and he is doing well. Is a good platform for him to understand better. Since he knows mathematics, he is good to go.

I would love to learn how to do coding, too, I can't wait to explore and roll my world 😂.

Overall, coding is the language of the world now; while making it compulsory, it comes with advantages and disadvantages, giving every child the platform to grow, explore, and learn more. And as parents, having a part to play in your child's choice of course is important. Know what your child is capable of doing and encourage him or her to be part of the program.
