#InternationalMensDay is not an anniversary that has the endorsement of an international organization at the level of the United Nations Organization, but there is a record of at least 58 countries that commemorate or celebrate it with activities oriented to the date. In our case, Venezuela does not have this date among its celebrations, and I have never seen anything in particular done on this date about it.<br><br>
In itself, the celebration is relatively recent, although there have been attempts to institutionalize a day to exalt the role of men in society since 1960 (approximately) from different countries, it is on February 7 of 1992 in Malta, that Thomas Oaster launched a project for this celebration, he had been working on it since 1991, but it was the following year that he officially launched it. He was working on the celebration and its popularization until 1995, the year in which the little public interest in the commemoration led him to reject his project and not carry it out anymore.<br><br>
Four years after the abandonment of the date by its creator, in 1999, Jerome Teelucksingh, from Trinidad and Tobago, relaunched the idea of ​​celebrating men and boys, as well as their achievements and merits. Part of Teelucksingh's idea was related to the tenth anniversary of his country's soccer team, which in 1989 had united the country in its quest to qualify for the World Cup, plus the date coincided with his father's birthday and Thus, it was a direct homage to its progenitor.<br>+++

El #DiaInternacionalDelHombre no es una efemérides que cuente con el aval de una organización internacional del nivel de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas, pero se tiene registro de al menos 58 países que lo conmemoran o celebran con actividades orientadas a la fecha. En nuestro caso, Venezuela no tiene esta fecha entre sus celebraciones y no he visto nunca antes que se haga nada en particular en esta fecha sobre eso.<br><br>
En sí, la celebración es relativamente reciente, si bien hay intentos de institucionalizar un día para enaltecer el papel de los hombres en la sociedad desde 1960 (aproximadamente) desde distintos países, es el 7 de febrero de 1992 que Thomas Oaster, en Malta, pone en marcha un proyecto para esta celebración, él lo venía trabajando desde 1991, pero fue al año siguiente que le dio lanzamiento oficial. Estuvo trabajando en la celebración y su popularización hasta 1995, año en que el poco interés del público en la conmemoración le llevó a desestimar su proyecto y no realizarlo más.<br><br>
Cuatro años después del abandono de la fecha por su creador, en 1999, Jerome Teelucksingh, de Trinidad y Tobago, relanzó la idea de celebrar a los hombres y muchachos, así como sus logros y méritos. Tanto Oaster como Teelucksingh dejaron en claro que se trataba de una fecha no solo para los hombres que son grandes estrellas en deportes, espectáculos, negocios o política, sino que se trata de celebrar a todos los buenos hombres de todas las edades y de todas las nacionalidades que viven dignamente y con decencia sus vidas, constituyendo un necesario y saludable ejemplo para las generaciones venideras y superando los estereotipos y los estigmas que puede tenerse contra la figura masculina en la actualidad.<br><br>
Bueno, también debo decir que elegí este tema para mi registro, porque es una manera de darme una felicitación también a mi mismo (risas personales), en fin, ya es hora de dar fin, te deseo que tú estés bien y que nos podamos leer de nuevo en otra oportunidad.<br>
