It's the first day of December, Thursday, and we are fully in the month of #Christmas. In general, I have had a quiet day, with a power failure of several hours that affected a large part of the country, but luckily it is back and, although it is already night, I can get some work done, and we have just finished cooking the food. We are 993 days from that Friday in March 2020 when the announcement of the #Quarantine was given in #Venezuela due to the #COVID-19 #pandemic, and at this point, I question whether to continue with the count.<br><br>
I went out with my brother to buy groceries, and we saw very few people wearing face masks or keeping a distance from each other, rather it turned out that my brother and I were the 'weird' ones who wore face masks. But, there are still cases of contagion and personally, I have been careless and months ago I had to stop by to take the vaccine dose and I have not done it... (sigh) yes, I have been careless with that, and I must correct it, I am from those who start from the fact that although vaccines do not prevent contagion, at least I hope that they mitigate the effects and reduce the risk of complications that could lead to the worst outcome of the disease.<br>+++

Es el primer día de diciembre, jueves, y estamos plenamente en el mes de #Navidad. En general he tenido un día tranquilo, con una falla eléctrica de varias horas que afectó a una gran parte del país, peor por suerte ya regresó y, aunque es ya de noche, puedo sacar algo de trabajo y acabamos de terminar de cocinar la comida. Estamos a 993 días desde aquel viernes de marzo del 2020 en que se dio el anuncio de la #Cuarentena en #Venezuela por la #pandemia de #Covid19, ya a estas alturas, me cuestiono si seguir con el conteo.<br><br>
Salí con mi hermano a comprar víveres y fue muy poca la gente que vimos usando tapabocas o manteniendo una distancia entre sí, más bien resultaba que mi hermano y yo éramos los ‘raros’ que usaban mascarilla facial. Pero, aún hay casos de contagio y en lo personal, me he descuidado y hace meses que tenía que pasar para tomar la dosis de vacuna y no lo he hecho… (suspiro) sí, me he descuidado con eso y debo corregirlo, soy de los que parten de que si bien las vacunas no impiden el contagio, por lo menos espero que atenúen los efectos y reduzcan el riesgo de complicaciones que puedan llevar al peor desenlace de la enfermedad.<br>
