Years have passed since that concert that changed everything.

Let's make some noise!

That was both the name and the motto of the group that played that strident music that seemed to challenge everyone to dare to try something new.

Surprisingly, it was also the name of the opening song for that concert.

I remember that young people seemed to be possessed of an unnerving energy, almost as if instead of music it was some kind of stimulating drug. They jumped, raised their arms, screamed, well, it was madness unleashed.

I was there. But surely my gray hair will surprise you and you will say that although a few years have passed, it cannot have been so many as for one of those vivacious and rebellious young people to be that old.

In that you are right, but I was not a young man in the audience. I was one of the workers behind the stage and at times I was able to pass to the other side of the catwalk of lights on the ceiling and I watched all the madness from above.

I could feel that strong energy, even though I knew it was not for people like me, I still enjoyed it in silence. It was like a kind of guilty pleasure, I was considered too old by the young to be able to enjoy that music and by the old I was not old enough to walk with such unbridled tastes.

Thus, I started my clandestine collection, my little secret of gathering music and enjoying it only with headphones on to avoid being known what I was listening to.

It was so weird that I even found it funny. I kept it that way because I found a certain comic sense in my performance.

Today I understand that it was the most sensible thing I could do.

I am too old for the younger generation to accept me as a fanatic and too old for the older generations to leave me alone to take personal pleasure in these subversive rhythms.

In short, I am one of the wandering and lonely souls that despite being contrary to everything established, likes Rock and wants his soul to scream freely: Let's make noise!
