# Hello steemit ! Pardon my late introduction

Hello steemit !

Clearly I have’t done my research well, since I’ve just found out about the whole #introduceyourself culture on steemit ! I’ve been posting for a few weeks now, without introducing myself properly. I apologize to the community and I hope this is not too late so that I’m able to connect to fellow steemers with common interests.

# Who am I ?

My name is Pedro and I was born and raised in Brazil, even though I briefly lived in Singapore and Indonesia.

# What do I do ?

When I left high school I entered Maths and Law graduation courses in two different universities. Later, I gave up on Maths and switched to Economics, finally becoming both a lawyer and an economist. In Singapore I studied quantitative finance and learned programming, so that when I came back to Brazil I started my career as a quant developer for an investment quant fund. Lately, I finished my masters program on econometrics and am a portfolio manager for another investment fund.

# What do I like ?

Easy, surfing.

# What do I want on steemit ?

Well, the thing is: I always wanted to have a blog, I just didn’t know about what.

A while back I was basically driven to cryptocurrencies. I mean, cryptocurrencies are basically a feature conceived to have an economic role, which is currently in the legal limbo and is based on programming. Given my life choices (lawyer, economist and programmer), that had to be a hobby of mine at some point.

Recently I started taking it more seriously as more than a hobby, and when that happened I felt the urge to share my thoughts !

Boom... steemit !

# How am I hoping to add value to the community ?

I am hoping that the skillset that I put together over my student and professional years will be of some value to other members. Hopefully I’ll be able to bring an investment perspective to a currently most computational field. At least, I’m committed to giving my best !

As I said before I’ve been on Steemit for a while now, writing mainly about cryptocurrencies and ICOs. I ask the community for forgiveness, since someway I managed to stay up until now unaware of the #introduceyourself culture ! I hope this is not too late and that I’m able to connect to fellow steemers with common interests.
