# Biggest loss in history on Belgian stock market in 1 day The BEL20 index, the 20 biggest marketcapped stocks of Belgium, lose a total of 12 % today. This is unseen for a country like Belgium. This is a blacker than black Thursday that will go into the history books. 12 % is huge, that is almost 1/8 of the total value in one day... gone up into the air, into dust. Of course these numbers are completely exaggerated, and do not respond with the real economy, but that is just how the stock market goes. Sentiment takes over, and before you know it, the panic is all over the place and the blood is on the streets. Other indexes all over the world lose big too, Amsterdam has a loss of over 9 %, France and Japan are also over 10 %, the Dow Jones keeps it at below 7 % loss. Bitcoin loses almost 2000 USD in one day and even gold is down 3 %. Everything is down. Cash is king at the moment. **This is complete mayhem** But, this offers opportunities in the longer run, this market is completely unrepresentative for the real economy and are complete nonsense digits, but they are there. And the cash kings are ready to snap up some very underrated assets. When the Corona virus is over its peak the market will jump up like never before with so much liquidity on the sidelines itching to get in.
