# Held off for long

I knew about SteemMonsters or Splinterlands from the very beginning, but I was very hesitant to start it, as I was a bit wary about it being a ponzi scheme, like most blockchain games are. And maybe I was also a bit scared of sucking at it. ;-) And maybe I do, but I don't care.

Now in a comment @constanza showed explained me the learning curve is not that hard, and it is just a fun game, with no obligation to invest tons of currency. So, yesterday I bought my starter pack for 10 USD. First I did a few practice games, and didn't understand a thing about what was happening, but as I was playing more and more, I saw that it actually is not that hard. It is tactical, but also has a bit of luck involved (you never now which cards your opponent will enroll), I compare it a bit rock, paper, scissors, but then with much more variables. A really fun game, with rewards, and that makes it even more fun!

I earned my first Reward Card for completing a Quest, and I moved to Bronze League II, it's kind of like being a kid again. But in fact, men really stay kids for all their life, ;-).
