# Lure in the big content makers

Today, a Hive post can only bring you in rewards the first seven days after the post or comment. After that, even if if someone decides to vote on it, you won’t get any rewards for it. That’s how we are used to it, but it clearly keeps big content makers away from Hive. And those are the ones we need to make Hive thrive.

Imagine big content makers from YouTube coming to Hive to post their content. Or from other platforms. What impact would that Hive on this community. But the seven day rewards threshold keeps them away. Why? Because on platforms like YouTube they earn eternally on their views. And that’s what needs to change on Hive.

# Reset every seven days 

My proposal is to pay out the rewards of voting on posts every seven days. And then for that particular post or comment a new period of seven days starts in which new rewards can be generated. That would make people have an incentive to make content that is timeless and it would lure in some big guns. There sure must be a way to code this into the reward system. Of course, one account can only vote once on every post. But it would be possible for me for instance to vote on a post from someone that was posted a year ago. And that person deserves a reward for that. It wouldn’t change much to the current dynamics, but it would create better content in my opinion!
