Oh look, people acting under the authority of the term "science" are  -- through the title of the article -- saying that [covid-19 can damage the heart](https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/09/evidence-builds-covid-19-can-damage-heart-doctors-are-racing-understand-it). What evidence? Well, people who have had covid-19 later can have heart damage.

Hmmm, wow, covid-19 must be causing it. it's n ot like heart disease the the #1 cause of death in many countries. That must be irrelevant. Clearly it's covid-19 that's the problem and giving these people heart conditions after. Not their lifestyle, diet or other factors that existed long before covid came around to be used as a scapegoat for everything in order to drive fear into the minds of everyone.

Oh but wiat, contrary to the title of "As evidence builds that COVID-19 can damage the heart, doctors are racing to understand it", the article says:

> Whether SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, induces cardiac injury including myocarditis more often, or with greater severity, than other viruses is still unclear.

So they start off saying "evidence builds" that covid is causing heart damange, they say it's unclear. 

Yeah, the prevalence of heart conditions and disease in the population would seem to be a more likely vector to explain things. Like in the [US](https://www.cdc.gov/heartdisease/facts.htm):

> Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men, women, and people of most racial and ethnic groups in the United States.

> One person dies every 36 seconds in the United States from cardiovascular disease.

 >About 655,000 Americans die from heart disease each year—that’s 1 in every 4 deaths.

Since heart disease is and has been the top cause of death, it's presence was there before covid. Factors that cause ill heart health have existed and have been accumulating for years before covid came around.

But hey, covid is the reason people who test positive for genetic material attributed to sars-cov-2 are getting heart damage. Heart damage wasn't a major factor prior to covid. Blame covid for all your problems, and make people fear it. Great plan.
