The giveaway will be in proportion to a person's bitcoin holding vs the total bitcoin supply. They say 10 bitcoins will get you 1,911.72 lumens, currently worth a total of about 0.0075 BTC at 390 satoshi each. "If there are unclaimed lumens, they’ll go to Stellar.org’s operational fund." I can't imagine more than 1 million bitcoin being claimed for this giveaway, so I expect this "giveaway" to be for Stellar to give itself publicity and the tokens they've created back to themselves. To make it fair, the entire 3 billion lumens should be given to those who claim their bitcoin, proportional to their share of the claimant pool. Practically speaking though, it would have a hilariously negative effect on the market price. The biggest order I can see on the top two exchanges for lumens is for 136 million of them at 11 satoshis a piece.
