#Security is one of the most urgent areas in a modern #IT world
Nowadays most of the Internet services and web-sites require your personal information - full name, date of birth, address, your phone number and even copy of the id. The problem is that not everyone is willing to share these data and nobody guarantees their safety. Therefore the one can raise a question whether it's possible to sign up providing some fake data? Here I'd like to share with you some ideas on how keep your data anonymous.

Usually there are 3 levels of authorization when following information is requested:

1. Full name + email
2. Full name, email + phone number
3. Full name, email, phone number + verified address

Obviously you can easily make up fake credentials but what will you do when code confirmation is required, which forces you to reveal you phone number?
Establishment an anonymous email address is pretty straightforward so I will not dwell on this.

In a case of verification by security code, you should somehow obtain anonymous phone number that can receive sms messages.
There are quite a few services that allow you to obtain a phone number (skype, google voice et.al) but almost none of them allows to obtain security codes through SMS. Besides Skype subscription is paid, it can't process SMS and therefore is not suitable for registration purposes. I personally prefer to use [NextPlus](http://www.nextplus.me/).

NextPlus itself is amazing - it's free and you can effortlessly sign up using your anonymous email address. Probably it's the only free service that allows to get security codes.

Some of the web sites can even require require to have a physical mailing address that should be verified by mailed confirmation code. In this case you can use mail forwarding services (e.g. [usmailagent](https://www.usamailagent.com/)) who will scan mail for you upon delivery.
