Success has become a kind of obsession to me over the last year. 

I guess I was sick of setting goals and never really seeing much progress while others seemingly surged to success with ease.

Was there a secret I was missing?

As it turns out, there were a few, but they're not really a secret if you are willing to find them.

Creating positive habits is the key to great progress in your life. Following these 7 secrets is having a profound effect on my daily achievements, and it can definitely help you too.

<h3>Wake Up Earlier</h3>
Starting your day earlier has obvious benefits. You're literally getting a head start on those who are willing to wake up later.

The main reason that people wake up later is that they go to bed later. However, the time before bed is often used for trivial things such as watching TV or Netflix.

By falling into these habits, you're losing hours of time each day that could be used for more productive things.

I have started getting up at 5am. By the time my housemate has gotten out of bed, I've showered, had breakfast, exercised, meditated, cleaned the house, done some work.

Over a long period of time, these head starts make a huge difference to your life.

<h3>Meditate</h3>

Meditation is something that is finally being accepted by mainstream society.

Benefits of meditating for just 10 minutes per day include reduced stress, reduced anxiety, improved concentration, and improved mental health.

<h3>Exercise Regularly</h3>
Exercise is a great way to stay healthy and feeling young. 

It also helps with relaxation, anxiety reduction, and improved quality of sleep.

If you want to be successful, it will certainly help to keep your activity levels up in the gym or at home.

Trying to remember all of the things you need to do throughout the day as you go along is draining and can lead to procrastination and reduced productivity.

By creating to-do lists with small goals, you can create order in your day, and get more done with your time.

Completing small goals throughout the day adds up to a lot of productivity over time.

<h3>Read More</h3>
Time away from work can be used for good and the not-so-good. Rather than switching on the television after work, try reading instead.

Fiction books can help to clear the mind, but self-help, autobiography, and other non-fiction books can increase your knowledge, and encourage you to perform better in your own life.

Knowledge is power.

<h3>Meet New People</h3>
'Networking is like currency for successful people'. Not only will you make new friends by networking, you'll also find new opportunities in your business life.

Having the right contacts can give you an edge over others, and it's a great thing to be surrounded by a support network.

You can meet new people at social and business events, or even by simply speaking to people who share the same interests.

<h3>Control Your Finances</h3>
An easy habit to get into is overspending. Whether it's buying necessary coffee and snacks on the go, or splurging on materialistic items, it's important to take control of your finances.

Spend as you currently would for a month, and write down everything you buy. At the end of the month, have a look at your spending list and highlight unnecessary purchases.

By actively removing these items, you'll save a lot of money over time.

Interesting post Phil. 
I actually use the miracle morning method which encompasses a lot of this and every aspect of it has proven benefits on productivity, efficiency, and achievement. 
SAVERS
S - Silence (I do meditation)
A - Affirmations (Specific seem to help me the most)
V - Visualization (Very important to remember both why and what the result will be)
E - Exercise (Your brain works better when your blood gets pumping)
R- Reading (Reading is an important part of learning daily and keeps your mind elastic)
S - Scribing (Writing is a form expression. I use this time for some of my steemit posts, and sometimes just for journaling, goals, that sort of stuff)
There's a whole community online built around miracle morning and the standard format with the SAVERS has helped a lot of people make an impact on the world.
