There's just something about a comb made of bone or natural horn that has an aesthetic appeal to it beyond just it's utility.  It's too bad that they're usually fairly fragile.

I just bought a bone comb last week. I really like it! Online counts. This week, I was a judge at a horse show, and somehow, that counted. You know, in a sort of way. We aren't sticklers and especially during COVID, I have been really happy to keep it going!

The tines on the wooden one certainly seem sturdier. It will be interesting to know how they go in comparison to the horn. I tried a hairbrush with a bamboo handle and wooden bristles, but the bristles broke quite quickly. They were attached with a natural rubber pad to the brush and that reacted with the oils in my hair and started to go soft as well. I'm back with plastic until I can find another option. My hair is too curly and easily tangled for combs. I don't have the patience to slowly work them through. Probably not the best situation for my poor hair, though. 🤔
