I'm sure you love Splinterlands as much as I do. (Why else would you be reading this?)
But there are 5 big mistakes that I made that I WISH I could go back in time and fix.

1. DEC capture rate. When you start playing on mobile you'll love it. Battles are quick fast and fun. The problem is when I started playing I didn't know the cards yet. I was like, I'll learn as I go. That's a huge mistake. Play in practice before you buy that spellbook. When you win/lose fights in spinterlands you lose DEC capture rate. At 100% you'll get maximum rewards per win. Every fight drops that by a percent. So if you do 50 battles day 1, monkeying around with cards? You are now making half of what you should be making. DON'T do it. 

2. Renting cards/Buying cards. Ok. I love spending cash on cards. But everyone's got a different amount of risk level. I bought some huge cards because I figured I'd be here a long time. The problem is as a noob I had no idea which cards were good. I just picked powerful cards and bought some. When you are bronze, I'd recommend not buying/renting till you get close to silver. This should take you a few days.

3.Summoner levels. Ok this is super tricky. I've never seen anything like it in different games.
Summoners have levels. What that means is, they can ONLY summon cards that are in their range

This means the level 1 summoner you buy can only use level 1 monsters. Those little colored bubbles in the stat page is what level you can summon, so a level 2 summoner, can summon up to a level 3 common, level 2 epic or rare and level 1 legendary.  These are monster levels. NOT how many you can have in your deck (which I thought it was).

4 OK. I figured out summoner lever. So, I thought I'll bite the bullet and buy a high powered Gold Summoner. That should work right? Nope. Besides summoner level, you are also limited by the power of your league. In Bronze this means you can at most use monsters that are Level 3 common, 2 for epic/rare and 1 for legendary. So yeah, that level 4 gold summoner I bought? They nerf it.

5.The biggest mistake I made was NOT joining earlier. I thought about it for a week when I heard of it. Yeah. Huge mistake. That week cost me because card prices all jumped in price. Ugh.
