Welcome to my review of Hive Web3 Music Competition – Week 38.

Last week was a blast. I enjoyed every moment of the competition, from listening to various entries, voting for the winners, to celebrating them. It was all fun, engaging, and filled with a friendly vibe.

Unlike week 37, this week came without a theme from the judges, so artists had the freedom to choose any song they were comfortable with. This gave them room to showcase their best vocals and deliver powerful performances.

The competition began on the 23rd of July and officially ended today, 2nd of August. I had such a good time watching and listening, catching all the vibes, smiling, grinning… you know, all the things a great performance can make you do.

There were so many entries I wanted to highlight here, some of them were so good that I was completely lost for words when I tried commenting. I would’ve loved to list them all, but I know I’d end up skipping a few by accident. So, I’ll just stick to highlighting the few ones that deeply moved me, those that I could resonate with or, simply hit differently.

He played sax so effortlessly, it looked like something anyone could do but we all know it's not. I'm not familiar with the song and honestly, I’m not sure I want to check it out because this version sounds way better to me.

I’ve always loved the sound of the saxophone and listening to @dubeh-playz felt like being in a cozy jazz bar. It was entertaining, and it left a lasting impression.

Honestly, this was one of the most captivating performances I watched this week. She sang the song like she owned it, and her body language was at 100% connection with the music. Every part of it was magnetic, I even had the urge to sing along, only to realize I don’t speak or understand Spanish😆.

I however ended up translating the lyrics to English and was deeply moved by the words...

The frustration explained here is very real, especially after a breakup, when one person has clearly moved on and the other is left trying to adjust to single life again.

This was a remarkable performance @olgaestrella, I really hope you make it to the winners' list this week.

Just when I thought I had seen all the best performances, I came across @diamusic’s entry and I was awestruck. She performed Mi Forma de Ser, a song that celebrates self-acceptance and developing a thick skin to other people’s judgments. It’s a powerful message on its own, but what made it special was her delivery. I was grinning from ear to ear watching her dance and sing with such contagious energy. She’s a whole vibe. By the end of her performance, I found myself asking “How did Hive find these amazing people?”

@diamusic, your presence lit up my mood:) I really hope you win this week. And if you, reader, haven’t checked out her entry yet, go do that now. Trust me, you don’t want to miss it.

I’m actually rooting for everyone because this week’s entries were absolutely amazing. The range of talent we’ve seen is proof that the Vibes Web3 Music Competition continues to bring out the very best in people, from vocals to instrumentals, and from energy to the emotional depth.

Week 38 was an open themed masterpiece, raw, diverse, and emotionally rich. With no limitations, artists gave us their truest vocals and performances that made us smile, dance, and reflect. I’m grateful for this community, for the talent it nurtures, and for the joy it brings every week. I'm also grateful to the hardworking and impartial judges, and everyone who works behind the scene to ensure the continuity of this competition.
