There are literally millions of millions of ways to earn [money](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-money) online, so when my family and friends ask me about it, I answer them with the truth: that there are so many that it is impossible to list them all.

### There are many ways to earn money online, but not all are for everyone
There is a widespread belief that [income](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-income) from the Internet is easy to obtain, and relatively it is, and technically they are within the reach of anyone; but there are some edges that we must consider in this sense.

The reality of things is that although there are millions of ways to earn money on the internet, there are many that are better than others, and you have to prepare a lot to identify and take advantage of them; many require a lot of work and dedication, while others require just a little [investment](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-investment).

Preparing requires that we understand what it is we want to achieve, how we want to achieve it, and understand the nature and essence of the [business](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-business) we are doing. Basically, one thing that we must understand very well regarding Online businesses is that there are passive sources of income and active sources.

The active ones are those that require our permanent attention to be able to produce money; such as pages like LeoFinance or [HIVE](https://leofinance.io/@crypto-guides/what-is-hive-crypto-hive), where we need to write daily in order to obtain rewards for our posts. But the passive ones are those that make us money even when we are not doing anything, because we have already done initial work that leaves us a profit, such as a web page in which we talk about any subject and that we have made profitable through advertising, etc.

If you ask me, I prefer passive income over active income, because it allows us to relax and at some point to be able to dedicate ourselves to enjoying life, but it must also be said that they are the most difficult to achieve; so for now, I dedicate myself to earn active income through the Internet.

HIVE and LeoFinance are two clear examples of active income, but there are millions of examples that can be given in this regard. However, we could also briefly mention a couple of examples in this regard: Trading is an active source of income, and investing can be seen as a passive source of income.

But better yet, let's clarify that trading cryptocurrencies, shares, currencies, etc. is an active source of income, but investments in the stock market are a passive source of income, par excellence, because they give us dividends, and gains over time even if we don't sell them.

As I said, earning passive income isn't that easy, and making it big and consistent enough that we can live comfortably off it isn't either, but it's well worth striving for one day.

### Today I got paid for a page I worked on 5 years ago
Speaking of passive income, it occurred to me this time to talk about it because today I received a [payment](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-payment) to my Paypal account from a page that I had not worked on for about 5 years. It wasn't a huge payout, just a couple hundred bucks, but honestly, it was nice and I wasn't expecting it. Its really wonderful to me to see that there are still pages that are responsible and workable, and that every day there are more pages like this in this regard. And I am also happy to verify again and again what I already knew beforehand, that passive income on the Internet is possible and within the reach of anyone who intends to achieve it.

With this, I have decided that I am going to pay more attention to my sources of passive income in the future, because they may be my main sources of income one day, they may be some kind of retirement for me in the future, I don't know. The fact is that it never hurts to receive income that does not cost us so much to obtain it, for things we have done in the past. It is comforting to have passive sources of income, and for this reason I recommend them to the best of your ability.

To the extent that we accumulate more sources of passive income, we will obtain greater financial freedom along the way, and that is precisely what those of us who are on the path of economic [wealth](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-wealth) should aspire to.
