Sometimes it makes me think,  
that in a corner of the world,  
there's a soul that knows,  
that love is not a deep game.  
Not a ‘better half’ that fits,  
nor an ‘almost something’ that won't settle,  
nor a ‘let's see’ that will stop me,  
but a bond that ignites.  
That gaze that pierces,  
knows the nuances of my being,  
completes the shadows and lights,  
without haste, without fear of losing.  
Maybe I walk under the same sky,  
or on a lost island,  
light of a sincere fire,  
the whisper that animates life.  
They are not promises of fairy tales,  
nor hopes of a ‘maybe’,  
it is a sincere desire,  
a love that does not turn from faith.  
Because sometimes I get to thinking,  
and in those thoughts I wander,  
that the complement to my being  
is only found when love is clear.
