The main problem with "logic-zombieism" is with logic itself. You see, logic can only really exist in relation to something else. Abstracted logic is a form of mathematics. But without a posteriori objects associated with the variables, the structure has no meaning, other than as a description of a hypothetical, abstracted relationship.

Populating the variables, in point of fact, is no small problem. Heidegger points this out in his essay on metaphysics. The way we populate our universe with objects depends entirely on our relationship with being. Therefore, we cannot escape being captured by projections in our reasoning, and we have to intentionally step outside of that, which involves abandoning logical structures rather than taking them as granted once established.

You could think of this as simply reexamining one's premises, but it's actually much deeper than that, because your premises could actually be supported factually, yet still miss an entirely different mode of being which bypasses your present mental world entirely.

We need meditation as much as we need sound reasoning. Heidegger as much as Descartes. The Tao as much as the Koran.

Glad to read that. I too think that all of that is needed.

As long someone needs it, it's part of living reality for him/her.

That's exactly what it sounds like. Identify your AXIOMS.

"If just one of those things [new axioms] gets down here then that will be all, and all this, this, BS that you think is so important, you can just kiss all that goodbye."

It is an excellent argument that you have just published, you have just given me something to meditate on today.

I was practically an objectivist for years. When I first read Kant and Heidegger, I hated them. Once I really understood what they were saying, they totally changed my life. Cheers.
