Maybe you’ve seen his ads on the comment sections of Bitconnect’s website. In the comment sections, he goes by the usernames “mindelio” or “MN Group.” His ads read as follows: ____________________________________________________ ATTENTION! 13% INSTANT BCC OR BITCOIN BONUS GIVE AWAY. I and my up line team doing this promo. You will receive 13% bonus, so You will earn 13% profit at the beginning of Your investment (Me 5%+1% and my up lines team 3%+1% and 2%+1% in total 13%). What You need to do: 1. Write us email at karvelisvytis@gmail.com 2. Join Our team (sponsor: mindelio) 3. Invest 5010usd or more and send to as Your username, amount of investment and address of Your BCC or Bitcoin wallet. This 13% bonus offer valid only for 5010 usd or bigger investment. ____________________________________________________ 13% sounded pretty damn good to me. Well, at least, it did at the time. So I promptly emailed him to confirm that he was still honoring this offer. On November 27th, he replied, “Hi, after You do Your investment I will send You refund immediately.” Then he said that he would make the refund in Bitconnect coins. Thereafter, I made a loan of $10,010. About four hours later, he emailed me saying that he made the refund and also included two attachments (Exhibit A and Exhibit B). I noticed that the Txid was cut off on Exhibit B, but I didn’t question it. This is when the fun really began. I went back and forth with him through a series of emails. He claimed that Bitconnect’s blockchain must have been overloaded with transactions and that was the reason I did not receive my funds yet. Then after a few days, he sent me another email claiming that the transaction was confirmed on his end and that the problem was my wallet. On this email he also attached Exhibit C. This attachment contained undeniable proof that this guy was a scam artist. If you look at Exhibit C, it is a screenshot of transactions from Blockchain.info. How is he sending funds from his Bitcoin wallet directly to my Bitconnect wallet? Hmm… Upon closer inspection, you can see my wallet number (third one from top on the right column) has been clearly Photoshopped into the image. First, the blue font of my wallet number is darker than the rest of the blue fonts. Second, take a close look at the spacing between my wallet number, the dash, and the word “Spent.” Do you see how the spacing is much smaller and not consistent with the rest of the wallet numbers’ corresponding spacings? Third, the font of my wallet number is different from the font of all the other wallet numbers. For example, look at the number "1" in my wallet number and compare it with all the other "1"s in other wallet numbers. I emailed him back and called him out on his scam. At first, he played dumb. “What do you mean?,” he wrote. Then I re-explained to him that a transaction between a Bitcoin wallet and a Bitconnect wallet would never be confirmed and that his “confirmation” screenshots were altered to mislead me. Then on his final email to me he just wrote, “Ok, do my best.” I never heard back from him nor have I received any refunds from him. So how can you avoid this mishap? First, you DON’T need a sponsor. Second, if you still want a sponsor, go with someone who lives in the same country as you to avoid any language barriers and time zone differences. I’m in the US and this guy is from Lithuania. Third, go with someone who has a Facebook group to see that he has a following. This scammer didn’t have a Facebook group. As for me, if I ever decide to lend out more Bitconnect coins, I plan on opening a new account since Bitconnect no longer allows you to switch sponsors. If this guy happens to be your sponsor, I suggest you do the same. Has anyone else had a bad experience with a sponsor?

12/12/2017 UPDATE: If you search for MN Group's original posts on Bitconnect's website, you will see a whole lot of "This comment was deleted." He may be planning on opening a new Bitconnect account and running the same scheme. Just follow my advice above and you should be okay.

12/18/2017 UPDATE: As I have predicted, MN Group has a new account on Bitconnect. He goes by LACryptoBCC and his sponsor name is cryptomindbcc. Be careful!
